I'm pleased to say that I always assumed the "proper Hebrew pronunciation" :)

I am a bit of a stick in the mud on other things as well:
Cherubim = Xer-u-veem (as in Greek)
'Our Father "which" art'
And, my favourite, always pronouncing the 'h' in words such as "whither", "why", "where", and the silent 'g's in "night", "might", "strength"

But it's all good because the CofE tolerates, if not encourages eccentric pronunciation!

:D

It's nice to see someone prepping for their readings and taking is seriously. Well done Roseheart!

Its always awful when you see someone wing it and find words they've obviously never seen before!

Always a good practice.
Even at morning and evening prayer (when said communally), should I be reading a lesson, I will take the time to prepare mentally the rhythm, pace, and most crucially, those problematic names. :)
