Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The ice age and the flood

Whether you accept the record of history and God is another matter. If not, too bad for you. It doesn't help your case.
Do you really think they have a choice? Is that not the illusion that they buy into that they have a choice to reject God if they want to? Only Christians can really be free, even though they use their freedom to follow God. If we do not use our freedom to follow God then we are in bondage.

But I can understand it, it's just the way you work, you're only looking at a single book instead of all the others around you ... no wonder you can't grasp reality ...
All of science can be used to verify that the Bible is true. If there is a conflict then you can be sure that science is in error not the Bible. Although most of the discussion on this board seems to be centered around people that do not understand their Bible. You can rely on Scientific Methoid to verify the accuracy of the Bible.

So there are NO ACTUAL observations of a star evolving.

They seem to put out light & heat, which in the laboratory is associated with nuclear fusion.
Some aspects of which are reproducible. Creationists have made some observations and
drawn some conclusions. Light emissions are consistent with chemical changes or "evolution" as some call it.

 -- You mean things were different back then!?

Next, I'll bet you'll say we lived to be 700, 800, and 900 years old!
To be frank, when we talk of distant stars I suspect that back then might not be the proper timeframe. But of course I know hardly much more than so called science, so you can hedge your bets for now.

I'm not discussing your dadology or reality or anything about "stellar evolution" with you, just your reading skills or lack thereof, and the text you quoted does not tell what you think.
That's what you say. However, here's the actual deal. I discuss and you tag along. False bravado aside. Questions?

Except according to dad those lives would have been hyper accelerated, rather like a Benny Hill chase scene, only more so.
Not true because our laws would not be around to hyper accelerate squat. The lives they lived were quite natural, thank you very much.

OK, but they can be Christians too if they like. So they can chose.

The Bible being true does not mean that it has to be literal, more often than not it doesn't even take itself literally. Christianity is being killed by literalism not "liberalism"
Relax. Neither belief in Jesus notr Jesus will or can be killed. In fact, watch out, the truth will march on. With or without anyone that worries about it's ability to march. Get in line people, it's marchin time.

Noo sweat. The labrotory is where? Right.

Name one!?

drawn some conclusions. Light emissions are consistent with changes or "evolution" as some call it.
Explain this foolish sounding notion. Reasonable minds are ready to look at your stuff.

I do not doubt you have reasons for spamming links. Care to name something in one that we can and should take a look at? I'm game.

They can also be one of a thousand others if they choose so which do they choose and why? which did you choose?
were you even given a choice because most are not?
I'll bet you could barely list 10 non-Christian sects, let alone 1000.

Your exaggeration is fueled by your zeal, is it not?

There are thousands of religions and branches off religions in this world and you know it.
I said 'non-Christian sects'.

You know? denominations?

If you can just barely name 10 non-Christian sects -- which I doubt -- I would say naming their branches would be even harder.

Let me help you out here:

  1. Buddhism
  2. Confusianism
  3. Jainism
  4. Universal Unitarianism
  5. Taoism
  6. Bahai
  7. Islam
  8. Vedanta
  9. Zoroastrianism
  10. Rastafarianism
There -- now give me 990 more ... OR ... give me an average of 99 branches per aformentioned sects.

Better yet, just drop it; I've already taken your emotional outburst with a grain of salt.

The context I think was in the pursuit of knowledge, to where one cannnot claim they had no choice, as an excuse for their ignorance.

God has shone a light on the mystery that is the far past and early man. There are things that, if not ignored provide a key to unlocking that period and the only key, I would think.

There are no others, Jesus is the only want to salvation. Only Jesus has the words of eternal life.

John 6:68b "to whom shall we go ? thou hast the words of eternal life."

"And whoever desires other than Islam as religion - never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the lost."

Quran 3, 85.

I have been saying this too.
However, bible interpretations are wrong if science supports an interpretation of Genesis that is different from the personal interpretation of one paerticular denomination or another.

The Truth then hurts that church which like all churches, has had a long tradition of arrogance insisting that their own brand of Bible interpretation is the only way to see the scripture as making sense.

Quoting a false prophet, are we?

I was under the assumption that there would be no more prophets after the Scriptures were completed in A.D. 96, and that that is why the Christians in Mohammad's day went to their deaths -- calling Mohammad a false prophet.

And you want us to respect his writing? no thanks.

To you guys they died for nothing, didn't they?
