In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. I have noticed that some people believe all the Feasts of God have been fulfilled (and thus have ceased also), and to support their argument they quote: "So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ." Colossians 2:16-17

So, have all the Feasts of God been fulfilled in Jesus Christ? Have these FEASTS OF THE LORD been fulfilled yet?

1. FEAST OF TRUMPETS

Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 24 “Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. 25 You shall do no customary work on it; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the LORD.’” Leviticus 23:23-25

2. DAY OF ATONEMENT

And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: 27 “Also the tenth day of this seventh month shall be the Day of Atonement. It shall be a holy convocation for you; you shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire to the LORD. 28 And you shall do no work on that same day, for it is the Day of Atonement, to make atonement for you before the LORD your God. 29 For any person who is not afflicted in soul on that same day shall be cut off from his people. 30 And any person who does any work on that same day, that person I will destroy from among his people. 31 You shall do no manner of work; it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. 32 It shall be to you a sabbath of solemn rest, and you shall afflict your souls; on the ninth day of the month at evening, from evening to evening, you shall celebrate your sabbath.” Leviticus 23:26-32

3. FEAST OF TABERNACLES

Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 34 “Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the Feast of Tabernacles for seven days to the LORD. 35 On the first day there shall be a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work on it. 36 For seven days you shall offer an offering made by fire to the LORD. On the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation, and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the LORD. It is a sacred assembly, and you shall do no customary work on it.
37 ‘These are the feasts of the LORD which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire to the LORD, a burnt offering and a grain offering, a sacrifice and drink offerings, everything on its day— 38 besides the Sabbaths of the LORD, besides your gifts, besides all your vows, and besides all your freewill offerings which you give to the LORD.
39 ‘Also on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the fruit of the land, you shall keep the feast of the LORD for seven days; on the first day there shall be a sabbath-rest, and on the eighth day a sabbath-rest. 40 And you shall take for yourselves on the first day the fruit of beautiful trees, branches of palm trees, the boughs of leafy trees, and willows of the brook; and you shall rejoice before the LORD your God for seven days. 41 You shall keep it as a feast to the LORD for seven days in the year. It shall be a statute forever in your generations. You shall celebrate it in the seventh month. 42 You shall dwell in booths for seven days. All who are native Israelites shall dwell in booths, 43 that your generations may know that I made the children of Israel dwell in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.’”
44 So Moses declared to the children of Israel the feasts of the LORD. Leviticus 23:33-44

Is there anything in Scripture that explicitly or even implicitly requires that each Feast as enunciated in the Torah must have a prophetic fulfillment? Or is it rather that the things of old are considered shadows that, as Christians, directs our focus rather upon Christ and the things of Christ?

Is there any reason to believe that each jot and tittle of the old must have a 1:1 ratio of type and antitype? Or is this an excessive and rather unnecessary method of biblical study and interpretation?

I'd go with the latter unless there can be provided a solid biblical reason for conjecturing more types and antitypes from Scripture than what Scripture itself already affords us. In other words, providing a biblical basis for this line of reasoning and thinking and biblical study--if one can't be provided then it's only hot wind and idle speculation.

I'd toss out that 2 and 3 were fulfilled and all that remains is 1.

When were 2 and 3 fulfilled?

Now we know the:

a. Feast of the Passover- fulfilled by the crucifixion of Christ.
b. Feast of Unleavened bread- fulfilled by Christ at His burial in His tomb.
c. Feast of First-fruits- fulfilled by Christ at His resurrection.
d. Feast of Pentecost- fulfilled by the Holy-Spirit at the day of the Pentecost.

And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

"Speak unto the sons of Israel, and thou hast said unto them, Appointed seasons of Jehovah, which ye proclaim, holy convocations, [are] these: they [are] My appointed seasons." Leviticus 23:1-2

All the seven feasts given unto Israel are His appointed times.

I'd put tabernacles as His birth. Circumcision on 8th day.

Atonement right after resurrection. Remember Mary shouldn't touch at first? That was forbidden at atonement; no one in the courtyard. Also veil torn, come boldly to the throne; no one could do that unless atonement done.

All that's left is trumpets, after the fish are netted.

How would you say the Feast of Tabernacles was fulfilled?

Are you sure about that? I only ask because I'm finding inconsistencies in your answer.

When was the Day of Atonement fulfilled again? Was it after His death but before His resurrection (when the veil was torn) or was it after resurrection (when Mary wasn't allowed to touch Jesus)?

All that's left is trumpets, after the fish are netted.

When and how will Jesus Christ fulfill this feast?

I understand tabernacles to symbolize God with us, Emmanuel., hence birth of Christ. 8th day was circumcision.

You?

More later.

Couple of things real quick about The Feast of the Tabernacles.
After studying the Feast of Tabernacles (also called the Feast of Ingathering) you would see that it not only represents God's final gathering of His scattered people out of the nations but also more importantly is a shadow of God coming down to eternally tabernacle among us.

Revelations 21:1-4 (Especially verse 3) Do you believe that this has already happened?
1. Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea.
2. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.
3. And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them,
4. and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away."

Ezekiel 37:27-28
“My tabernacle also shall be with them; indeed, I will be their God, and they shall be My people. The nations also will know that I, the Lord, sanctify Israel, when
My sanctuary is in their midst forevermore.”
This too is to come:)

What’s even more awesome is the fact that when the Messiah returns ALL of us (including you if you are a believer) will together celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles with the Messiah :)
Zechariah 14:16
“Then it will come about that any who are left of all the nations that went against Jerusalem will go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to celebrate the Feast of Booths.”

So you see—although we are the temple of God- the Feast of Tabernacle is a shadow to that glorious day when God will FOREVER tabernacle among us!
More on the rest of God's Appointed Times later...

Another common misconception is the thought that if a shadow is fulfilled or revealed--we no longer have to celebrate or remember the fulfillment.
This is simply not the case as we see it clearly in what Christians refer as "communion" more correctly the Passover Seder --which is not only a shadow of something that already has been fulfilled; namely the Holy Lamb of God, but also represents a memorial of what is to come. This is why Paul encourages us to "keep the Passover feast".
7. Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, just as you are in fact unleavened. For Christ our Passover also has been sacrificed.
8. Therefore let us celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

One more thing...
Do you know why Yeshua told His disciples at the Passover seder that He will not drink from the fruit of the vine until He drinks it again with them in the coming Kingdom? Everytime they continued taking the cup, during the Passover seder - they would not ONLY remember the BIG revelation of the shadow, but also look forward, anticipating the time they will drink again with the Messiah ---that’s what a shadow is!)
So even the Passover, which has been fulfilled by the first coming of the Messiah--continues to be a shadow [as Paul clearly stated] not only as a memorial but looking forward when we can drink from the fruit of the vine again with Him in His Kingdom!

My question wasn't whether God gave Feasts to Israel. That's obvious. My question was what biblical justification is there in finding a 1:1 ratio of fulfillment of every Feast. What is the justification--biblically--to saying that each of the Feasts must be "fulfilled" at all?

God also instructed Israelite women to separate themselves from the community during her menstruation and that she was unclean for a time after and had to ritually purify herself before reentering the community. That doesn't mean that there it fits into an exact type and antitype concerning Old and New.

So, again:

What is the justification for making each and every Feast a type with a corresponding and direct antitype?

Last Trump? Really?

Matthew 24:31 and He shall be sending His Messengers with a great trumpet sound
and they shall be together-gathering the out called ones of Him out of the four winds, from extremities of heavens till the extremities of them.

Revelation 8:6 And the seven Messengers having the seven trumpets make ready themselves, that they should be trumpeting

So, have all the Feasts of God been fulfilled in Jesus Christ?

Yup.

Have these FEASTS OF THE LORD been fulfilled yet?

Yup.

1. FEAST OF TRUMPETS

Yup. Jesus is the offering and rested on the Seventh Day in sheol/hades. When He was resurrected, a shout of joy occurred from the Apostles and Jesus' inner circle as well as those who were raised with Him.

Fulfilled. Denial implies non-orthodoxy and the Holy Bible.

2. DAY OF ATONEMENT

Jesus is the Sacrifice for all sin. To deny this is to deny Jesus as Messiah and to deny the Nicene Creed which says "for us and for our salvation"

Fulfilled. Denial implies non-Christianity.

3. FEAST OF TABERNACLES

Jesus again for the same above.

Fulfilled. Denial implies non-Christianity.

This, of course, is not about whether to observe them, but rather not letting people change the way you observe them

So, have all the Feasts of God been fulfilled in Jesus Christ? Have these FEASTS OF THE LORD been fulfilled yet?:angel::angel:
They have not come to pass yet and neither has a time come that we should stop observing all of them because they teach God's ultimate plan for the salvation of mankind.
Without keeping them and learning what they picture one cannot even begin to understand God's plan for us.
Rejection of these days is a major reason there is such little understanding in the "christian" community today.

That's interesting, even though you've associated the idea with the wrong feast. You're describing a tabernacles typing: Sequencing from start of sabbath at Bethany to end of sabbath at resurrection (7 days). Then the 8th day.

PS. You're Christian concepts about whether you see or not aren't really accurate.

Since we know clearly that passover, unleavened bread, first fruits, and pentecost were fulfilled, what makes someone think the others wouldn't be fulfilled?

I thought I already did?

"Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts." Leviticus 23:2

All the seven God's feasts are His "appointed times". Two important Hebrew words appear in Leviticus chapter 23, and each word is translated as feast in English. In verse 2, the word for feast is the Hebrew word mo'ed, as it is written, "Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, concerning the feasts [mo'ed] of the Lord...." The word mo'ed means "an appointment, a fixed time or season, a cycle or year, an assembly, an appointed time, a set time or exact time. All the Feasts point to the Messiah and God's plan for the world through Jesus Christ. Now, as we are already aware, the spring Feasts of the LORD (Passover, Unleavened bread, First-fruits, Pentecost) have already been fulfilled, why do you doubt the other remaining will be fulfilled?

What does it mean to be a Christian to you?

-your church believes that the Feasts of the LORD have all been abolished, that the former things have ceased and new feasts are now in place (Easter, Christmas, feasts in the names of angels and mere mortals etc).

-It also considers the celebration of the Feasts of the LORD as ungodly and evil.

To be honest, I am glad that your church doctrines considers me a non-Christian, and YES, I deny all you have said above.

My Redeemer lives.:)
