One would think God would be a better author than that really. The first lesson of writing is clarity. God must have missed that lesson.

Don't ch know, God gave AV a personal interpretation, and he can't be wrong, even if God himself comes and tells AV that he's wrong, AV wouldn't be wrong.

I believe I once posed this scenario to AV and the response was exactly that: If God Himself contradicted AV's interpretation of the Bible, AV would not believe him. Alas, I cannot find the thread.

I think what he and others says should be pit on the table for our consideration along with every other idea that tries to make sense of the Bible.

However strong each person may feel their insight to be needs to be moderated by the Facts and by other verse and ideas in the rest of the bible.

By Science, I imply that Facts are derived through the Scientific Method.

The Bible is an amazing piece of literature which shows evidence that the wording used throughout anticipated the slow growth of human understanding and gradual sophistication over the Ages.

The word choice for "day" for instance. was a word that CAN mean 24 hours or even an Era.

So in Gen 1, earlier generations of readers assumed the seven "days" were as they already understood.
But today, we can see that the seven durations were seven Ages or the 7 eras.

Christ said, "I am the Truth."

This is the fundamental christian responsibility when searching the scripture, albeit, a mind open to change when Truth confronts it.

There was a recent discussion about this pointing out what nonsense it was.

And the wording of the bible shows no such thing. Two millenia of desperate reinterpretations to fit a succession of agendas and discoveries have left you with mass of interpretation that you need a machete to hack your way through. Meanwhile, the intention and the context of the original author's words have become almost irrelevant. If God had wanted us to have a proper record of his doings he would have used a better medium than words.

If you meant the Bible, then don't call what you reinterpret due to discoveries "science" and what we reinterpret due to discoveries "religion".

Those [inconvenient] facts do and will always contradict the Bible because the more we find out the further away from the truth the Bible gets,[apart from place names] you only think the Bible is correct because someone told you it was.

You have never [and will never] check anything that might lead you to think that the Bible is untrue, you WANT it to be true so anything that suggests that it isn't is dismissed out of hand because the very very last thing you are interested in is the truth about the Bible, your religion forces you to wear blinkers when it comes to anything that might shine a light on it's many shortcomings.

In my country we have a saying: " On the deaf man's door you can knock all you want". Likewise: With AV1 you can debate all you want! AV1; I suspect, would dismiss God himself; if God came to him and told him that evolution is a proven theory.
It is sad that one such as AV1 (who has shown to us in many posts that he truly possesses a good grasp of general knowledge) should act in a way that only ignorant people do.

2) And we agree that since then, there have been seven long "days" we now call Eras, right?

3) Plus, we both recognize that visible light did not appear, initially, at the Big Bang because the universe was too hot.
So God waited before he said, Let there be light.

4) And, it is true, scientifically, once All the waters under heaven were collected into one place and Pangea/Rodinia appeared.

5) We know that the Plant kingdom was established before the Animal kingdom because free Oxygen did not collect on earth until 2 billion years after its formation.
