Yes, indeed. That´s because they tend to take us, our desires, our needs out of the equation.I think that one of the problems with equaitons is that they seem lifeless and void of heart.
That´s precisely why I have lost all interest in "truth" as a representation of reality out there and have replaced it by "does it work?".
When I feel cold, the response "but it´s 30°C!" doesn´t change anything about it, no matter how "true" it may be.
I simply notice that certain things matter to me. It´s not like I´m trying to find an external justification for that, or a reason why they "should" matter to me.They might be representing a love affair or a hot tempered outburst, but all they are is marks on a note pad. This might leave the door open to nihilism, or the view that nothing really matters. Why should anything matter if it's all just equations?
