  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Another poor response to ERV evidence for common ancestry by a creationist.

...are you joking? Your joking, right?
No. I really do not have Zeus or the Iliad.
We're waiting for you to give us the scientific proof of the flood. Yet you keep dithering.
This is a tacit admission you do not know and have no evidence opposing the record. Move on.

It's terribly cute how creationists resort to personal attacks when people question them.
Relax. Pointing out your position is godless and unbased is factual observation, not personal. All you need to do is be honest.

No. I really do not have Zeus or the Iliad.

So reality is dependant on what books you own? So if I didn't own the Bible, but owned the Iliad, you would agree that the world was created from the mating of Uranus and Gaia?

This is boring. Any more logical fallacies you want to commit? I find what you are saying hurtful, and it is sad that the follower of the God who is Love would act so hatefully to a Christian brother.

?? If I owned some Zeus fable book that would mean something?in that fishbowl.

Who cares what you own? Red herring.

Still waiting for your scientific proof of global flood.
Science is a creature of the present state fishbowl. The flood was not in that fishbowl. Look elsewhere.

No idea what you are blathering and self pitying about now. If you had a good case, how could it get hurt?

If you have feelings that are sensitive, try being clear and you might find that people on your side don't make you cry.

Does owning the Bible mean something? According to you it does, so I'm simply applying your own standard.

Who cares what you own? Red herring.

I don't know, you keep babbling about the Bible as a record, not me.

Science is a creature of the present state fishbowl. The flood was not in that fishbowl. Look elsewhere.

Proof?

No, I just think it is sad and hurtful that you don't want to be civil.

"The chief cause of criticism and slander is pride and egotism, for man thinks himself better [than others]. For this reason it is very beneficial for a person to think of himself as smaller than all, so that he sees the brother as better, in order that he may, with the help of God, be delivered from this evil." --Elder Ephraim of Philotheou, Counsels from the Holy Mountain

Not something I have claimed. The content of the records passed down, and that are generally now labeled 'bible' is what matters.
No, I just think it is sad and hurtful that you don't want to be civil.
Well, if you are a Christian then, what basically is your point and claim here? Besides badmouthing the flood that is?

You do realize that any so called evidence against the flood is same state past belief don't you? (and nothing but). 100%.

What matters is Aristophanes Birds teach us that the world is the eggshell of a hatched bird. Your argument makes no sense. One bronze age mythology is true but another isn't? Why?

There never was a global flood. I think that is pretty obvious. The Noah flood was clearly local.

Were you going to give us any evidence of a different "past-state" or a flood anytime soon? You have the burden of proof as the one making a positive claim.

In English...what eggshells teach what where and why?

No one asked for your opinion....facts?

So as a Christian then, are you going to accept the record of God and our fathers or not? If NOT then you better be ready to pony up evidence of ANY state before using it as the basis for modeling. And I don't mean maybe.

Did you not read what I said? Birds, but Aristophanes. You know, the famous Greek playwright?

No one asked for your opinion....facts?

There is no evidence to suppose a global flood.

So as a Christian then, are you going to accept the record of God and our fathers or not?

Sure I will. Too bad you aren't Him.

If NOT then you better be ready to pony up evidence of ANY state before using it as the basis for modeling. And I don't mean maybe.

Still waiting for your evidence of a global flood and "different past state".

False. The words of Jesus are evidence. The scripture also. You just don't know what to look for.

Still waiting for your evidence of a global flood and "different past state".
Until then, you will have to admit ignorance then. OK. What else matters??

Does anyone here know what DAD is talking about:confused: I am hard pressed to make sense of his posts but they have me stumped:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Creationism is true because the Bible says so (or he interprets it as saying such). He refuses to explain why the Bible should count as proof and other religious texts shouldn't. He refuses to present proof for a global flood. He refuses to present proof for a "different past state".

Peddle your godless religion elsewhere.

It's called science. It's not a religion. It is time you grow up and learn the difference.

Prove there was no flood?

No interruption of lake varves, annual ice layers, tree ring dendrochronologies, and a complete lack of a global flood layer.

Also, did you forget the topic? ERV's have been presented as evidence of common ancestry between humans and chimps. All you can present as a refutation is a fantasy world where the laws of physics are magically different, a fantasy you have zero evidence for. Please explain.

Can you present proof Jesus was born of a virgin? Can you present proof Jesus rose from the dead? Can you present proof Jesus is God?

I didn't think so.

If God exist and He performs miracles would it matter what you observe in nature?

"So Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came out of the fire, and the satraps, prefects, governors and royal advisers crowded around them. They saw that the fire had not harmed their bodies, nor was a hair of their heads singed; their robes were not scorched, and there was no smell of fire on them." (Dan 3:26-27).

If God exist and He performs miracles then the earth could have been submerged in water or fire and there be no evidence left behind.
