  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Jesus vs Paul, law abolishment. A simple answer, from a frog.

Frogster,
Well yes, and all the more reason why one cant say Jesus vs Paul anymore than Jesus vs Matthew.
Paul preached what he received from the risen Lord (Galatians 1)

I actually agree, i meant "Jesus vs Paul" as the phrase often used, in the abolishment issue.

But law does not let you get away with anything.

Heb 2;2For since the message declared by angels proved to be reliable, and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution,

Said again, "without mercy".

10;28 Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses
:)
Aren't those 2 witnesses/prophets in Revelation 11:5,6 a type of Moses and Elijah?

NKJV) Zechariah 7:12 "Yes, they made their hearts like flint, refusing to hear the law/08451 towrah and the words which the LORD of hosts had sent by His Spirit through the former prophets.
Thus great wrath came from the LORD of hosts.
[Revelation 6:16]

Reve 11:5 These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands the ones in view of the Lord of the land standing
and if any them willing to injure, fire is going forth out of the mouth of them and devouring the enemies of them.
And if any should be willing them to injure, thus is binding him to be killed.
6 These are having authority to lock the heaven that no shower may be raining the days of the prophecy of them,
and authority they are having upon of the waters to be turning them into blood and to smite the land in every blow as often ever they should willing.

Paul could not really be an observant Jew, while being with his Gentile converts, besides, Eph 2 proves there can't be unity, one new kainos man, with the law, so maybe during a stressful transitional time, the Jewish Christians did in jerusalem, but 70 AD shows it was wrong, and the writer of Hebrews rebukes them for their efforts to revery back to the old cov.

God bless.:)

Our Lord did not differentiate, neither did the Jews who were in the temple with the Gentiles who worshiped God.

Which law would that be?

Lazarus and the Rich Man - Here a little, there a little - Commentary

John 5:45 "No be ye supposing that I shall be accusing of ye toward the Father,
is the one accusing of ye, Moses into whom ye have hoped"
[Luke 16:31/Reve 12:10]

Luke 16:31 Saying yet to him "if Moses and the Prophets not they are hearing, neither if ever anyone out of dead-ones may be rising/anasth <450> (5632), they shall be being persuaded".

Acts 25:11 For if I be an offender or have committed any thing worthy of death, I refuse not to die.
But if there be none of these things whereof these accuse me, no man may deliver me unto them.
I appeal unto Caesar!
I guess that you doing to many things at the same time this morning. So listen up and tell me which law I talk about. You have been around long enought to understand this.

One can not be against Jesus and be His.
It's pretty simple.
If one thinks Paul was against Jesus it is them who are against Jesus.

Jesus sent out Paul, who said the law works wrath, is the power of sin, is not of promise, was elemental, for children..etc...etc...

Yes, but they were in the same Temple, and the Jews had to go through the Court of the Gentiles, to get to their Court.

Would there not also have been Jews instructing the Gentiles there?

And just what do they represent?
Moses represents the law and Elijah represents the prophets.
The law and the prophets...hummm...isn't that the whole of the Old Testement?
Why would God send them if the OT is done away?

Coincidentally, a "court" is also mentioned in Revelation 11:2 :) ;)

The Court in Revelation 11:2

Matthew 26:3 Then were gathered together the Chief-priests and the Scribes, and the Elders of the people to the court/fold/aulhn <833> of the Chief-priest who was called Caiaphas [Revelation 11:2]

Revelation 11:1 And was given to me a reed like-as rod saying "rouse! and measure! the Sanctuary of the God and the altar and those worshipping in him
2 and the court/fold/aulhn <833>, the without of the Sanctuary, be casting out outside!and no it thou should be measuring,
that it was given to the nations.
And the holy City, they shall be trampling forty two months

The Jews could go through there, but the gentiles had to stay put.:D

Besides, all that shows is that it was a transitional time, but again, Hebrews gives dire warning to Jewish Christians, to not go there, how much more Gentiles should take heed?
