• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Could this generation of creationists be the last?

Please tell me if I'm wrong but I bet you a million to one that you get your information from creationist web sites and creationist preachers.

Here's a question to ask your preacher, why don't creationists learn more about the ToE so they can argue against it from a stronger position? surly the more you know about a subject the easier it must be to find the flaws in it?

I don't have to ask my preacher or go to any creationist site to answer that. We don't learn more about ToE because we really don't CARE about arguing against it. We're not looking to prove or disprove it. It is really quite inconsequential to most of life. It is your religion not ours.

Given that scientists are pushing back the boundaries of ignorance further and further every year do you think that this generation of creationists could well be the last generation of creationists?

When you look at what has happened in the last 50 years it makes one wonder what the next 50 years will bring.

Please let's not argue for or against this advancment of knowledge let's just accept that it will come no matter what.

We can only pray that it is so! :crossrc:

No it isn't. What rude nonsense.
Just give in to them because their whole religion depends on what Atheists (and others) believe, it's very important to them,
because they're going through hell they need to drag as many as they can with them.

Yes, it is.

No it isn't. Science is based on repeated, naturalistic observations, unlike religion. Calling science religion is just trolling, and the use of that deriding label for evolution is just more evidence that Creationists generally aren't interested in dialogue so much as hysterical ad hominems.

I know what science is based on.

It's what you do with that science that makes it a religion.

Could this generation of creationists be the last?
Only if evolution theory is correct:

I mean the continued use of the false dichotomy 'creation OR evolution'. They are not the only two choices, nor are they mutually exclusive.
I see it as "biblical claims OR claims of evolution theory". Mutually exclusive.

Sure I understand it, I used to be a creationist, but that has nothing to do with the fact Jesus didn't teach six day creationism.

Just because you USED to be a creationist does not mean you understood it. Why would He?

Not rude nor nonesense. You put your faith in something that cannot be proved or seen. You have to BELIEVE certain aspects of science because they cannot be see only explained or speculated.

Religion Definition
a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.
