• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So long as you throw in some cool dark robes, stained glass windows, and all sorts of cool churchy stuff, I'm in:D

Oh and also emphasize cool man centered traditions while dismissing Protestants beliefs and you got yourself a deal.

:doh:This is high theological argument...no one can argue with that... Just because we use insence that means we are NOT knowing our Bible... how so ? I think this is childish to judge others by outward practices ...please !!! :liturgy:

I agree.

( A significant reason why I left the RCC, but that's another issue for another day and thread - if at all).

Glad you came to understand the question. And even more glad we agree on the answer. That makes that one still accountable, right?

.
Funny how some of them will agree with you on that point but still insist you are wrong.

Hey CaliforniaJosiah, welcome back!! :)

... among other things, the correctness of what the doctrine taught.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't think you've made a coherent jump from the original statement of 'one claiming correctness does not in itself make one correct/incorrect.'

Taught? or ratified? The councils are moot to SS... right? Only one matters and that is because of the Bible...

Appoint, elect, so what?

You tell me. You are the one claiming appointment. Go back and read your post.

Some here don't even have a bishop - claiming JC as bishop

A bishop is an overseer not a person in control of an area or multiple local churches. The term is better defined as the lead pastor of a church which is consistent with scripture.

It doesn't matter if you don't have ANY bishops

What do you think an 'overseer' is? Why only particular MEN? Why, for instance not women?

As to how you define that term, show me from Scripture
