  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Did you know that in 1860, the final antichrist was Louis Napoleon, and that the Second Coming was predicted for 1868?

Then some people saw sense and altered their calculations to make it 1874.

Such is the foolishness of literalism.

Makes me feel even more better and vindicated being a Preterist :D ;)

There have certainly been "many" anitchrists, now havent there brother Oscar.

But there is only 1, who holds himself above every god, who denies the Truth of Jesus as the ONLY Christ, and is himself, heralded as the christ.

Jesus told us that He had come to us in our Father's name and we had rejected Him, yet another, the son of perdition, would come in his own name, and him, we shall accept.

So, brother Oscar and ANYONE who believes we, the "watchers", are "foolish", who has come in his own name, and been received as THE messiah.

I, along with many other brothers and sisters here are on the watch, never sleeping for we shall not be robbed by the thief in the night. The snake does slither, and we will see him as he slithers into Christendom.

No full preterist views. Partial preterists welcomed. <<<What does this mean?

It means that this is a Futurist site. Don't think so - try to get them to set up an Amillennial Forum - won't do it. They have a Dispensational (Futurist) Forum and also an Eschatology Forum. Most of the posts that are in the Eschatology Forum really belong in the Dispensational Forum. The moderators won't move them, so that is why I say this is a Futurist site - there is a double standard - so take it or leave it I guess.

It would be really great having an Amil Forum because there are some sharp people on this board and I would enjoy the chance to compare notes and Ideas without constantly being bombarded with all this literal Futurist nonsense.

Full Preterists are heretics that say EVERYTHING was fulfilled in the life of Jesus, including his return.
2 Thess 2

1 Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers, 2 not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by some prophecy, report or letter supposed to have come from us, saying that the day of the Lord has already come.
I have a lot of sympathy with Partial Preterist views which teach everything but the Lord's return has been fulfilled.

However, I now think I'm something called an 'idealist' which says most stuff has been fulfilled in a 'now and not yet' sort of way.

EG: Ephesians 2 where we ALREADY reign with Christ, and are 'seated in heaven' in a sense, because our names are in heaven and we have been adopted into the Father's royal family. We are heirs! But we are not acknowledged as such by the world we live in. So yes, we reign with Christ, but no, not fully.

This seems to apply to everything in a 'now and not yet' way. Yes, the world in rebellion to God WAS judged on the cross. Yes, creation itself was destroyed in Jesus body on the cross and reborn when he rose to new life as the first-fruits of the new creation.

But no — we do not see the world fully judged and Sin, Death, and the Devil cast into hell, and we do not see the New Heavens and New Earth installed yet.

So I'm an Amil Partial Preterist with idealist
'eschatological tension' leanings.

ouch...
hey now, not everyone here is a Dispensational futurist.
Yes i am premillennial, but by all means, i am NOT dispensational.
I can see your frustration in your view even though i disagree with it, but it's still fun to see a thread like this, even for a premillennialist... i mean, come on... ya gotta see the bit of humor in it :)

Oh my goodness brothers and sisters, has our study of the Word led us into soooo very many paths.

We are believers in the ONE TRUE and ALMIGHTY GOD, and there is to be no division amongst us.

Indeed our Majesty must return soon soas we might come together once and for all.

Praise and exalt Him above all forever!

This first evening of fellowship with you has been a true blessing. I am grateful for the opportunity. I have to depart now, as work calls. May the Lord watch over you and keep you close to His bosom throughout the day. Blessed are all of you that call upon the name of the Lord.

In Christ's Love
Thank you. Hurry back :)

Excellent posting Acts!!

Very nice exposing of those false prophets who take it upon themselves to predict their brand of religious future.

Now I give a prediction. And this one is true.

I predict that there is NO predictions ever made here on this forum EVER that will come to pass.

Keep track of this post for next year. Then the year after and the year after again. Keep this for the next 10 or 20 or 30 years, or 50 or a hundred or a thousand...

There will be NO ideas/theories/predictions ever come to pass that we read on the eschatology boards.

Except this one;

(1Jn 3:2) Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

But Salvation will continue. The Holy Spirit will continue to be poured out upon Jesus' Sons and Daughters of God. Men will continue to repent and be baptized and be saved. The Kingdom of God will continue being filled more and more as it always has been for the last 2000 years.
Nothing will ever come to pass on this planet such as what the dispensationalists teach. Nothing will ever happen until the day that the gospel is no more upon this planet.
Prove this.
Watch.
This is the only prediction made on this forum, EVER, that will come to pass.
Watch.

Out of all of the thousands of speculations made - not one has come to pass in the last 62 years. Why should they as the great majority have already been fulfilled.

Exactly Codger :)
The "futurists" love standing around looking up into Heaven for something to happen don't they.
So we should take great comfort now, while it is called To Day, and enjoy His Righteousness, Joy and Peace in the Kingdom of God.
Blessings in Christ.

There is dispensational futurism, but there is also the non-dispensational acknowledgement of the fact that the Lord will return.
