  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I want to thank you for your posts too, they are inspirational and help me to really think.

I am thinking of going to college for the first time in my life and becoming a Medical Assistant, I have such a heart to help others.

Have you prayed much over that choice?:prayer:

Oh yes, I pray daily to be led right. I am 53 and I do not want to make any mistakes, plus, I want to be in God's will.

amen to that. Then again, we are to walk by faith and not by sight. Is there any reason why you are only thinking this goal and not working toward it?

Well, to be honest, I am afraid. I am afraid I will not do well, plus, it means leaving my home to go to a bigger city. I have a few health issues, but I doubt if they would matter much. I guess I just need to trust the Lord more. To be honest, I am actually signed up to start this Spring at a couple of schools, I just need to pick the one that best suits my needs.
I also worry about my dad, he is 89 and not in the best of health, I live at home with him, he says to not worry, that I need to be trained in something for when he does die.

I am glad you are asking these questions Sirender, it helps me to talk about it.

God bless you:hug:

His word says:

Have you done YOUR part? Are you a good caster?

I must admit, I cast, but then take back, I need to work on it more.

isn't it funny and silly that we take back what we cast upon HIM?

To cast ALL.... not some... ALL!

GLORY - that really means we DO have to trust HIM ALONE!

That really tests our faith!
That is so true, I need to really work on that area.

A medical assistant is sort of like an RN only they work in doctors offices, optomitrists, etc. I would eventually like to specailize in cardiology, but, where ever the Lord leads me, I would be happy.

Hi Susie,
a "medial-assistant" eh? - what kind of work,
or specialty would you be wanting to do, may I ask?
(waiting for clarification, before offering more...) sk8JoyfulOriginally Posted by Susie~Q

Hi Susie :)
having worked in most medical-specialties, for the past 30+ yrs,
I do know ;) what a 'medical-assistant' is, & does. - In fact,
I taught some; or shall I say taught the ones,
who (past their ego) were Open to learning... Usually,
after they gained awareness, of something I help people gain
(which medicine to this day still calls "miracles" :D), but
as I stated in CF's 'heresy'-group here, are simply paradigms & methodologies they simply yet don't do,
such as Allowing, Encouraging & Helping people self-heal.
Instead,
(conventional-medicine: is the way by which people are
meticulously ^_^ trained, to letting themselves being $controlled, & managed$), hence
the utter atrocious mess the Sick-care industry managed to create in this country).
God forbid.

So, in that Sick-care system, you want to work in "cardiology" eh? - yup,
I worked in CCU in Utah, & Fla, the latter as Teamleader in a Telemetry unit.
Noticing
you are from WA-state, my last hospital-contributions
were in Harborview's 'Burn & Trauma' unit on 8N.

Susie - how prepared are you to participate in Clinical-rotations, in the Abortion-clinics??
just asking as I was the only student, in a class of almost 70, who outright REFUSED!,
(because my soul+mind+body are not for $sale$); with
professors voting to expell me; but
the Director said: "are you kidding! - we need more 19 yr. olds like her,
to keep this country from completely going to ...." - so unfortunately, they kept me.

Well, this was quite a mouthful, for you to chew on... and
I do wish you <-soul+mind+body-> well
I would REFUSE to work in any abortion clinic, no way. This and other reasons are why I am still on the fence, I know health care is not what it should be, and you really can not help others like you would like, that would be hard for me as well. So, I do have alot to think about. I would rather get expelled than commit murder, in fact, I used to work in a hospital as a surgery instrument tech, well, one of the trays we had to assemble was an abortion tray, I quit, I did not care that I was making over 13.00 an hour, no way would I have stayed there.
Thanks again for your reply and help, I appreicate it so much.
Hugs
Susie

Hi Susie,
Any reasonable, & fact-oriented person would agree that
we will always need 'Trauma medical-doctors' like
from: Natural disasters,
(war, crime, other mental-disease), & accidents: Sports & work,
AND in these areas, medical-Science has made big strides.
This DISCLAIMER should be in here, before we share more.

but over 95% of treatments are for 'chronic rot': & that
needs to be majorly revamped, as I spoke to in this earlier post: #
I would REFUSE to work in any abortion clinic, no way. This and other reasons, are why I am still on the fence.
Good for you guarding your  soul, & wanting to empower  ...people's life
I have 100's of related examples, on both sides of the fence; and
frankly we can't sit on it. Eternity is a long time, know what I mean?

How would you feel about working in psychiatry? ^_^ where
(humans with some semblance of sanity left), upon arrival
in an 'Inpatient'-institution, soon deteriorate increasingly crazy.
Lord have mercy!! - I worked in 3 such places.
yup,
we had 1 psychiatrist who of my interventions... she took Notice ;), &
as of late recommended me to the organization: "have her teach the Staff these obviously-successful therapies".
Response?: are you insane!, she'd make everybody well ,
and there would go our livelihood. No way!" - thus,
this psychiatrist quietly had my schedule, arranged to match hers,
so we could work together... Yup, until that was discovered, & ooops!
fired  her as 'med-Director'. So I resigned, as I would be next. - My problem was/is
I just naively offer: "Lookie, *healing* is Easy & Fast, watch how it's done..."
um, no.
This world operates, by creating increasing complexity,
as that gives people venues for messing up!,
which makes things more complex, which gives people venues for messing up, more!!,
which creates ever more complications!!!, which ... hopefully you Susie get the point by now eh?

I know health care - is
Have we transferred to a different planet? - goody! :)

because on planet earth, it's Sick-care like I earlier said, where
in (conventional-medicine: people are meticulously

the utter atrocious mess the Sick-care industry managed to raise in this country).

you really can not help others like you would like,

that would be hard for me as well. So, I do have alot to think about.
uhu, like that earlier lady, you repped me about.
She belonged in no hospice. - Had she wanted, she could've been helped to self-heal.

Instead, the system had me 'Sing/Relax' her, to death. Have mercy!!!

I would rather get expelled than commit murder,
in fact, I used to work in a hospital as a surgery instrument tech,
well, one of the trays we had to assemble was an abortion tray,

Hugs, Susie
as student, they forced us to watch over 6 abortions, after which I fainted.
Awakening, I said: I had NO-idea, that I signed on to 'murder-for-hire'.
Sure, you can get paid over $20/hour. Question is: are you willing to live with that memory for all eternities...
.

Hi Susie,
Just now noticed this earlier post of yours. You're now 53, &
my! you're so pretty, & Enthusiastic, I wish you ALL the Best...
Too having read your Profile & Intro, I notice we're lots...alike.
(except for loving beaches, & horseback skills) - Yes,
Sarasota is just north of St. Pete: were we neighbors, lol

Hey, you can help me with my pooter-skills; don't ask me how LOL

Say, in 3 yrs. you'll be done, just pass them BOARDS, before almost 60 Why?
'Age-descrimination' : (in this no!-job economy) is rampant. Factually, it's rabid.
Meaning employers will ask: No experience?, & Medicare-age? - but you want me to HIRE ;) you?
um, do pray tell ------> why should I do that?? - but Sir,
you say I CARE, & want to do God's Will. - yeah,
competitively, it doesn't pass muster, sadly.

~~

okay: using myself as another example:
1. I have 30+yrs. experience, in so many specialties,
that I keep deleting... ;) just to fit my Resume one ONE page.
&
2. I have a thick 3-ring binder full of excellent Recommendations,
incldg. DSHS-survey for "Excellent skills & High client satisfaction": uncommon.
&
3. I have given more years in Community-service,
than I ever got a paycheck for, because of my ongoing LOVE-affair with life, &
my ability to 'seize the moment' if you know what I mean, re Social-Projects...
&
4. tho chronologically near 60, I cont. starting most days with my OFF-ice (skating-moves):
Outside spread eagles, & Split-FLEXability exercises for
my Biellmann spiral, & Spins in socks on the kitchen-floor, before then Jump-roping,in prep for practicing my Waltz-jumps, & Loops... iow, like a 23 yr. young kid.

So it was only natural that until 5 yrs. ago, any employer seizing my Resume, &
chatting with me for less than 10 minutes, asked: Name your salary :D & Can you start TODAY?
well,
that was then, & this is now. - Susie, the last 5 Interviews I had, they said: "Sadly, you're over-qualified".
tho this is true.
The real-reason, they're hiring 25 year olds, & you can't prove: is Age-descrimination. ^_^
.

Oh mercy yes, I do agree about the age discrimination, it is bad, especially out here in Washington, it is sooooo very youth orientated. Sure, the employers say it is NOT that, but hey, you can tell it is. I get so irritated, those of us who are say, more "mature" have so much more experience, etc, grrrr, it really riles me.

Thank you for the compliment about my picture. My folks and I lived in Sarasota for many years, I miss it, especially when the snow and ice is so bad that if you go outside you could slide on your [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse].

My goodness, you DO have a lot of experiences in different areas, see, that is what I mean, and those dang employers could care less, mercy.

I see you ice skate, that is one of my favorite sports to watch, I tried many times, but, well, let's just say the floor and I became fast friends, LOL, but, I sure to admire those that do skate, it is so lovely.

Well, everyone, it is Monday, Praise the Lord for this new day. I am believing that everyone will have a good one. Talk to ya'all later.
Love yas
Susie

Hi Susie,
yeah, unfortunately - that discrimination, is only 1/10
of all the other trauma: #347
