Blaspheming in the Holy Spirit.

I always thought that blasphemy of the Holy Spirit was when we deny Christ. I don't have time to look up the Bible verse, but the Holy Spirit is a witness for Christ.

I understand it is the act of misrepresenting God, so you are blatantly lying when you say "this is the truth according to God" or even quote a verse in a context that your conscience tells you is wrong, yet you proceed to lie anyway. In this way by lying and expecting people to trust you, you are downright misrepresenting what the holy spirit says, and you can dig yourself into a hole like that if you allow your heart to become hardened.

the holy spirit is the spirit of truth. a deliberate misrepresentation of truth to fit your own adjenda is aginst the holy spirit.

i do believe the pharasis jesus was talking to were fullly conciously followers of satan. i believe the same people do own the federal reserve and are on the verge of getting their New World Order. their anti christ leader will rule from jeruselum. come soon yahshewah!

I thought only believers can commit this sin??

I am terrified over committing this too.

I kinda thought it was ignoring the holy spirit at work. I think that we sometimes ignore god at work in the spirit often just dismissing it as consequence.

Mmm, I'm not so sure that is true. Many Christians backslide to the point of ignoring the Holy Spirit, but they are one day forgiven. I think it is quite a bit more serious the matter of blaspheming the Holy Spirit rather than a period of disbelief, it has a lot to do with a hardened heart to the point where one will suggest the Holy Spirit isn't so holy.

It is important to understand that the Holy Spirit is God manifested spiritually since Jesus as God has gone "to prepare a place for you", as He said. So, any statements or judgments against the work of the Holy Spirit is "blasphemy" against God, such as stated in Matthew 12.

I have asked that question to my pastors and they say that blaspheming the Holy Spirit is when you look at the work of the Spirit and you say "that is not God". for example if you were to look at iris ministries and say that that is not God that would be blasphemy. But do not worry about weather or not you have committed blasphemy. it is a heart issue and only God knows the heart. If you are worried about weather or not you have Blasphemed the Holy Spirit than you have done no such thing. Remember Paul killed christians before he came to Christ and he is the one who invented the term christian and wrote most of the new testement.
