CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

good morning, matt....
i'm not really feeling very "get up n go" this morning - been up since 5:30 AM, because our new kitten woke me up trying to use my lips as a scratching post....sigh....and my head is swimming watching the theological ping pong match going on....
i have nothing of importance to add (anywhere, actually), so i'm going to contemplate taking a nap already....

Got woken up by furry brat again
She likes to jump on the bed and howl before we get up. Since the hubby got up earlier a few times to go to work early, she assumed that was our new wake-up time.

LOL....yeah, i can relate!! our two older cats have normal sleeping schedules, so we never have to worry about them keeping us up or waking us up - but we've only had the kitten for 2 days and it's just full of P & V...absolutely driving me batty!!
is that a maine coon?? we have a maine coon cat (his name is rocky, he's the best cat on the planet, and is as dumb as a sack of hammers), and the kitten we got looks just like him (he's fixed, so it's not his, LOL) - i kinda doubt the kitten is maine coon, but it is kinda funny that it looks just like rocky....

We love her to death but my goodness. If she isn't howling or jumping on us, she's bringing jingling toys into the bedroom (or on the bed) to wake us up as well.

i just discovered that my husband's funeral over 2 1/2 yrs ago was held at an ELCA church....i had no idea til just now, and i don't think my sister-in-law knows this....my mouth is kinda hanging open, i'm honestly not sure what to think about this....

I understand your anxiety ABM, but it won't make a bit of differance where the Lord takes him. Funerals are for the surviving members, not the deceased. Of course we wanty to honor God for His grace, but I'm sure He knows your heart.

If he was a Christian and knew that Jesus died for his sins and rose on the third day it probably doesn't make any difference were he was buried from. Other than that I don't know.

Oh, wait'll she starts bringing you pets! We had a Tabby that would bring in live birds, rats, mice and other things. She'd bring them in and then release them at our feet. The birds we didn't mind, the furry ones...
When she started fishing in the Aquarium, it was the end of house privileges.I found out just a day or so ago that an acquaintance, someone I was hoping to get to know better, had died. The worst part is that he died four months ago.:o It's a good thing that the web page mentioned it instead of going over to Fred's and embarrasing myself (not to mention upsetting his widow) by asking about him.
Sometimes one's friends just kind of slip away unnoticed.

Unless they are in the house she can't. All of our cats are indoor only. If they go outside we are with them and they are on a harness/leash.

I am going to a Celtics pre season game tonight in Hartford. Before the game the Celtic players such as Ray Allen, Shaquille O'neal, Kevin Garnett etc. are going to meet with fans. I hope I can snag some autographs. Im excited to hopefulley get Ray Allen's autograph, my favorite player.
