  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Think I'll sit down here for a bit... (10)

I am fortunate to have a great pastor at my church, it makes all the difference. The pastor I have is so enthusiastic and positive he keeps my attention.

when I went to Catholic Church in the past, I was always day dreaming, because it sounded like the priest was half awake. I do not mean to be disrespectful to any Catholics reading this, I am just being honest about my past experiences.

We had such a wonderful service today. The sermon was on Habakuk and asking God "how long?" Boy, do I have a lot in common with Habakuk. Our bible study was on the Fruit of the Spirit - peace. It was wonderful, and I couldn't believe it when pastor said our time was up.

I am glad to hear that everyone appreciated their worship services today. Due to a cold I have had, I was so tired that I slept in today. Felt good actually. I am going to have ask the Pastor (my hubby) what it was he preached on today.

seajoy and QuiltAngel,

You are my sisters in Christ. If I've offended you, please pm me and let me know how so that I can do what I can to make things right. I appreciate you both!

I sent you a PM.

On with our fellowshipping now.

I am getting ready to bake cake in a jar and send some to my kid in Iraq. Sent some at the time of his birthday and he is requesting more.

How did that work for her?

It was ingenious. She needed a large cake for a party but the biggest pan she had was a 13 x 9, so she took a cardboard box that soda six packs come in, lined it with alumin foil inside and out and poured batter from two cake mixes in it. It worked!

Christmas was just strange last year. With all the blizzards and ice storms as well as son deploying the day after Christmas, it was interesting. This son spend Christmas Day finishing checking out of the barracks and the oldest one spent two nights in a hotel room due to the weather.

Has to be better this year.

When I was a child we would split the Christmas holiday or Thanksgiving holiday between the two sets of grandparents. My mom's lived in Minnesota near St. Paul/Minneapolis and my dad's parents lived in Iowa. So I'd only see them once a year, sometimes more but usually once a year and since the trip was to spend time with the family, I didn't see really any other parts of Minnesota that I can recall now some 30 years later.

But it's in Michigan, not Minnesota.

:D

Okay, so I should have read further and seen that everyone had already corrected this wee misunderstanding. Blame my Husbunny. He woke me up last night at 8pm after I told him at 5 that I didn't feel well and wanted to sleep. Oh no, at 8 pm I HAD to get up and have dinner with him. I never did get back to sleep. I'm running on almost 26 hours of no sleep. I'm ready to crash 'n burn but...I'm waiting for the tylenol to kick in. (ow)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIM! I'm sorry I'm so late! I'm TRYING to remember to get on here but...I've not been around the computer much except for Facebook and I get that on my iPod now...makes doing housework easier but really cuts down on my fellowshiping opportunities!

Um. Hmm. I had something else to say but my brain has fizzled into a heaping lump of ooze. That and the parts of me used to sit upon are in pain and are begging for me to lay down so...without further ado...

good night sweethearts well it's time to go....
