  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

But you are the one who compared homo erectus to king David just before he died.
No, I didn't -- I compared that silhouette of yours to David.

Let me make this perfectly clear: I don't not believe there is such a thing as Homo erectus, Homo sapiens, or that other Homo thing (Neanderthalis?).

For about the 5th time, they were contributing members of society at one time.

If copy errors can be used to produce all the life on earth, they are very good.

"very good" (perfect) in Genesis 1:31.
Which does the AV say? "Very good" or "perfect"?

You go with Aristotle not the literal interpretation of Genesis?
When it comes to spontaneous generation, I have to attribute it to someone.

I could tell you where I really think spontaneous generation and evolution come from, but I'm afraid you wouldn't understand.

Can't be. No girls.

Including our eleven year old Turkana Boy?

St Basil thought it came from God saying "let he earth produce living creatures."

If copy errors can be used to produce all the life on earth, they are very good.
Except there's a virtual graveyard of trials-and-errors behind everything that survives.

If you're going to attribute evolution to God, don't just attribute the successes, attribute all those plants and animals that died in the process as well.

The smell alone should make you a literalist.

Here is a thread I started some time ago on this subject: 1

Wait, how do you get "Very Good"="Perfect"? That seems kind of a stretch.

It was an analogy. Of course the human body is much more complex than the car but eh, it works.
I think its incredibly funny that creationists point to non living things to show how that living things were created. non living tings are lacking in all the features that allow evolution to work.

Stretch on over to Ezekiel and compare spiritual things to spiritual:

Ezekiel 28:15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

God created Lucifer perfect, but then the entire rest of His creation sub-perfect?

Even if 'perfect' isn't the word -- (and it is) -- the fact that God did it would leave no room for improvement.

Internal consistency does seem to be a problem with your scriptures.

Begin with the use of nano technology, then the ability to carry the car factory within the car. The details of the aforementioned and the rest of the process you can look up in modern science.
Been there, done that. Which is why I do not consider the human body to be designed.

Why? because they don't spoon-feed you the deep things of God all on one page?

You want 'internal consistency' problems with scripture?

How many times has the "second bible" been rewritten?
