Well, for the record, Paul compares [prescient] evolution to a philosophy."Inventions" in that passage is used in the sense of "devising schemes" or "crafting evil". It is not connected with inventions such as people sitting down and inventing scientific theories and gadgets.
Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
Note the "rudiments of the world"? today we would say, "Periodic Table of the Elements".
Paul, in a letter to Timothy, further compares [prescient] evolution to fables.
1 Timothy 1:4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.
