I'm saying that while nobody particularly found President Bush's birthday particularly worth celebrating, the notion of having the media fawn over a president's birthday isn't exactly unusual.

I think I'd rather eat the golf ball than play golf with it. Maybe that's why Obama plays golf - so that everyday governmental business seems amazingly exciting in comparison.

Actually, I think most of the publicity about Obama's birthday was caused by all the conservative news sources who complained about Mrs. Obama going to Spain for her husbands birthday (and many suggested the President would go for his birthday, too). I don't recall anything about Obama's birthday last year and doubt it would have been news this year without conservatives making a big deal about it.
