Yeah California was one of the first states to do away with laws barring interracial marriage…shame on them
That's what's amazing about this whole discussion. This exact same situation happened not too long ago. The majority (Christians) wanted to deny interracial couples the right to marry because it was an abomination and unnatural. Of course, the Supreme Court with their silly agenda of stopping the "will of the people" decided banning mixed races from marrying was unconstitutional due to violating the 14th Amendment.

I guess conservatives have not learned from history yet .

Can somebody point me to the US law that says that people can take other people's rights away and deny them equality?

Can someone point me to the Constitutional law that says that some people can take other people's money because they think they have too much and things should be more equal?

Oh wait, Congress doesn't have to follow the law.

Equality in the United States is a pipe dream of liberal politicians to keep themselves in power.

Parents in cults give their kids up into such relationships. So I guess the state of California might as well allow the rest of the parents to do it. The state is becoming one, big, drunk the devil's Kool-Aid cult anyhow.

Anybody know what used to happen BIBLICALLY when cultures started sacrificing their children?

Never said that from time to time they didn't get anything right. ^_^ They were right on Prop 8.

But you got these judges who need to be stripped of their abilities to make rulings on anything.

But then again, the more Sodom and Gomorrahish this country gets, the quicker Jesus can come on back.

Exactly. It's California. They will find a way to do it and name it the "But They are In Love" law.

99% of the electorate can say no, and one person will want it and some rogue liberal judge will make it the law.

Who says the crazy judges I saw in the past were liberal? Conservative judges can be crazy as well, especially when applying the word of the law when it clearly goes against the spirit of the law.

They should be stripped of their ability to make rulings, because they follow the law instead of appeasing the Christian right?

Cool! I too can't wait for him to smite the Bible Belt for teaching discrimination! ;):amen:

Oh pish posh. God's word discriminates against those who are against His word from start to finish.

God doesn't smite folks for being aligned with His word.

This ruling was completely in line with the 14th Amendment and past precendent regarding similar issues.

Perhaps you all should stay out of legal discussions when you don't understand them.

In South Carolina a child can be legally married at age 14

Um... no. It is most definitely 16 last I checked.

S.C. Code of Laws Title 20 Chapter 1 Marriage - www.scstatehouse.gov-LPITS

SECTION 20-1-100. Minimum ages for valid marriage.
Any person under the age of sixteen is not capable of entering into a valid marriage, and all marriages hereinafter entered into by such persons are void ab initio. A common-law marriage hereinafter entered into by a person under the age of sixteen is void ab initio.

Try New Hampshire (lowest is 12 for females), Arizona (no bottom limit), and some other state which allows 13 or 14.

Well, you were commenting on conservative judges craziness and not following the spirit of the law. You seemed to be referring to this judge.
