Where did Peter warn of private interpretation? When Paul urged us to what elders was he speaking of? I dont see the Ethiopian seeking continued help. Do you?

2 Peter 1:20 shows that scripture didn't come from personal interpretation.

Apparently the Bereans seeking to use scripture is an example for all time, but the Ethiopian seeking help isn't. Based on the fact that it just is.

Yes Peter 1:20 shows that scripture did not come from personal interpretation. But men moved by the Holy Spirit. But Peter does not warn us that we cannot know the scripture.

The Ethiopian was reading the OT scripture and God sent Philip there to show Him that those scriptures spoke of Christ. Then He was gone as quickly as he was there. For the Ethiopian was now able to be taught not of man but of the HS that dwelt within Him.

Obey those who have rule over you scripture says. So therefore the laws of the land and those who are in leader positions we are to obey and not only that pray for them. But as far as the Body of Christ goes we have no one other than Christ to Lord it over us. Scripture shows us we are to submit to one another. Love one another but no one is to Lord it over another in the Body of Christ.

Or so you would like it to be, but you disregard the fact that the Ethiopian was speaking directly to an author of scripture, and his question could have been answered without Holy Spirit intervention as it was simply a question of to whom the particular scripture was referring:

It's a rule, not an inviolable principle. If your elders get senile, you need to follow the principle, not the rule.

In the New Testament it is says to by explicit, exalted example, and you know exactly where.
It's also exampled by God at Mt. Sinai in stone.

The problem is no one knows what any of those non-written things are, apart from the obvious traditions of men. But consider this instead.

2 Thes. 3:6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.

What oral tradition had Paul verbally given them in the past face to face about which Paul is now writing?

You want to eat? You gotta work. v10.

Do not weary at doing well. v13

If you disobey these words, you should be ashamed. v14

Remember that apostolic oral tradition, Paul says? I've now written it for your instruction (because I will die).

So the Holy Spirit didn't guide him? Who says he was a non-believer? It just says that he was reading and he didn't understand. He was seeking the truth. Perhaps you think God wasn't at work in this?
