  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

No, I honestly don't think he would. When praying it is not appropriate to behave like you are at a rock concert. It is not appropriate to have music like you would listen to at a rock concert, either. If you want to listen to Gilmour get a massive guitar jam on during a song like "A Great Day for Freedom" that is fine, just don't pretend to be praying while listening to Gilmour lament the breakup of the band prior to the Momentary Lapse of Reason CD.

Actually he said "pray without ceasing"...which doesn't exactly leave time for Pink Floyd.:D

Let me know when anyone gets anywhere close to being able to do that, outside of a hermitage on the Holy Mountain.

The first step in the right direction is to stop listening to Pink Floyd:D

Do you have a favorite Floyd song? I can't name one, I would have to give a top 10 list.

That's a hard one. I have several that I really like. But the first one to pop into my head was "Learning to Fly" and the second was "Comfortably Numb."

The really long version of Comfortably Numb off "Pulse" is beyond words awesome. I also really like "A Great Day for Freedom" and "High Hopes" both off The Division Bell, and let us not forget the entire CD "The Dark Side of the Moon."

So excited for tomorrow! Going to the botanical garden for a Chinese festival. Too bad it's going to rain! Boo! But it should clear up in the afternoon. I've been looking forward to this for a couple of months. =)

On a side note: My cat is not feeling well. He keeps throwing up and has been laying around all day. He won't eat or drink. I even offered him real people tuna. Nada. Poor guy. I'm worried about him. =(

I've always liked hearing both parts of "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" in one go

That makes for a very long, but beautiful song. "Do you remember when you were young? You shone like the sun!"
