  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ahh that could be.. Walgreens tends to carry some low rent candy (along WITH real Twizzlers!)

ETA.. My favorite is the small pieces of Australian licorice from Trader Joe's

My favorite is the Black licorice from Panda that TJs also carries.
Gotta get some. The package is calling for me to buy and consume it.

Ah Friday. No wonder.

Never been inside a Wal-Mart

Woot. That's great, neither have I. They aren't allowed to open a store within the 5 boroughs because they refuse to allow their employees to form a union. I'm perfectly content with that, because I love my Target.

Well I some of youse guys come to Jersey, from time to time. Paramus wouldn't let one in, because it was going to be TOO huge & the area was already over saturated with stores & the traffic jams they cause.

I have a Walmart 500m from my house. As much as I dislike them, yes, if I need something and don't want to drive, I sometimes buy things from them. I wish it were a Target; I prefer shopping there.

I do not grocery shop there, though. I go to ALDI.

What is ALDI?

I go to TJs. :) (Rob knows).

I have been to Jersey. My sister graduated from The Kings College. My folks had a home in Bergen County.
I did not like the cold winters and hot muggy summers. Sheesh! I would get out of the shower and want to jump back in.

I have been spoiled by California weather. :)

However, I would love to live in Hawaii. Oh, it was wonderful there with all the tropical food and perfect weather.

I believe it is German owned. There is another one known as LIDL in Europe. There is little in the way of shelving or displays, some are just a line of pallets back to back with boxes of the products stacked on top. The boxes containing the products are perforated so that the top and front of the box can be torn off once it is on the shelf or pallet. No money is spent on unpacking stock and putting it on the shelves as the consumers unpack directly into their shopping trolleys. Thus they are able to offer some decent products (and some not so great) at very reasonable prices.

Yup. Prices are about as low as they come. Not all of their food is exactly stellar, but then again, I don't need prime rib every time I sit down to eat... :)

You can get some pretty nice stuff there, if you know what you are looking for!

Hi. I see a couple of oldtimers here. I have to pop in every blue moon to see what's going on.

I used to be known as KjellBjarne. I do think I remember you (despite my horrible memory). :)

I remember you, too. Hi.

Yeah, I used to be one of the bigmouths around here, mainly arguing with Protestants all the time.

Don't plan to do that anymore. Too depressing.

Whaddup Maximus  I just started coming back to the forums after a pretty lengthy absence.

Working hard, getting up at 3:30am every weekday morning to commute up to the DC area.

I mentioned this over on that other thread, but we finally found a great church (a truly great church) near where we live. It's the one at the link in my signature (well, it's not actually at the link - it occupies a real building on a real street in a small town). :)

I love our local church. I cannot tell you how good it feels to worship and fellowship there. God has really blessed us.
