In less than 6 months time I shall have no job, no home, no money - nothing - nowhere even to put what I own, and because I am self employed I'm not entitled to any benefits from the State.

I don't know, at the moment, what I shall do, where I shall be or how I shall live. I must just trust that G_d has a plan 'B', because no one else seems to have one.

I must also begin to prepare for this situation and see how I cope. I would value all your prayers so much for the future - it looks very bleak and scary at the moment.

To those with whom I have laughed - it's been great fun. To those with whom I have crossed swords I hope you have forgiven me; to all of you - thanks for just being there on my screen!

For those who have wondered, my previous 'name' on CF was Yeshiva when first I joined many years ago.

Shalon aleichem chaverim.

Heber, its been nice getting to know you. Have you contacted your local Jobcenter? We've been in this position so many times and we have been self employed and you are entitled to a basic government assistance, even if you have never contributed. They cant leave you high and dry.

I will pray for you tho...

God was faithful to the Hebrew children in the wilderness, and He will be faithful to you, too, Heber.

It's been pretty tough economically in my neck of the woods, too, but God is coming through.

I'm sorry for the stress you must be feeling right now, though--not fun, is it?-- and I will keep you in prayer.

I am offering a prayer for you. I am deeply saddened by your situation and hope that this forum will not suffer as greatly as I suspect by any absence of yours.

I think you are looking on the wrong side of the coin... right now you do not see any for see able income.... God does take care of His own... so in Him I do see His hand working in your future, just as He has worked in your past. He is not going to drop the ball.. You will get the ball as you line up to make a slam dunk. Ask Him what position He wants you to play in His game plan. Just because you are not holding the ball right now, does not mean He has thrown you to the curb, and refuses to have you in His game. Quite the opposite, He has taken what you have today out of your hands so that you can prepare for what He has in store for you tomorrow. Remember God's children are not effected by today's economy. God is in control no matter what doom and gloom the world experiences.

Praying that the Lord blesses you with His light shining forth and inspiring you to see the horizon as He sees it. I know He has a very busy schedule for you ahead. May you be blessed to prepare now for it.

Praying for you, too. Nobody is guaranteed anything in this life, and nobody knows if he has a tomorrow. So don't drown in dispair, friend, for tough times, unlike tough people, dont last, they eventually end.
".... Be still and know I am the Lord"

As my rabbi friend aways says " G-d doenst give us trouble, he gives us trouble to overcome"
you will.

Thanks for your prayers and advice, folk.

I feel like Job at the moment - everything in life is falling apart (but no deaths, fortunately) and there seems no way forward other than to ignore my conscience.

This is happening because of a matter of conscience on my part and so I will, effectively, make myself to be without any work. On that basis, plus the fact I am a self employed Holder of Office, and not an employee, living in a 'tied' house, means that when my job goes so does my home and income - and there is nothing in place for that event happening. It also means that I shall lose the right to a home when I retire in several years time.

I cannot retire early as many professions allow and, in any case, my private pension has been decimated by the credit crunch, so I really need to work on past my normal retirement age to get a reasonable pension apart from the State pension but even that I cannot get for several years yet.

I'll try get back on to keep foilk up to date as I can... it's just a mess at the moment.

I just now saw this

Adon olam, asher malach,

V'hu haya, v'hu hoveh,

V'hu echad, v'eyn sheni

B'li reishit, b'li tachlit,

V'hu Eli, v'chai go'ali,

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]The Lord of the Universe who reigned
before anything was created.
When all was made by his will
He was acknowledged as King.

And when all shall end
He still all alone shall reign.
He was, He is,
and He shall be in glory.

And He is one, and there's no other,
to compare or join Him.
Without beginning, without end
and to Him belongs diminion and power.

And He is my G-d, my living G-d.
to Him I flee in time of grief,
and He is my miracle and my refuge,
who answers the day I shall call.

To Him I commit my spirit,
in the time of sleep and awakening,
even if my spirit leaves,
G-d is with me, I shall not fear.

Dearest Heber,

Although I feel my prayers aren't effective, I ask our Father in Heaven and His only begotten son to provide you the way to continue with an income, what ever it may be, and also provide accommodations so you may have a roof over your head.

Blessings,

I have been walking where you are about to walk. It is a tough road. Some things I have learned.

1. God is faithful
2. God can work miracles.
3. God will not give you more than you need at any given moment.
4. Walking by faith is hard, but the rewards are more than worth it.

I read most of the posts to you. You belong to the One who created everything. He is infinite and able to do anything. How much He must love you to bring you to the point of losing your reputation, your livelihood...everything in this world that is of value.

I have spent a lot of time in the last 8 months in the book of Job. Job lost everything plus had his friends turn on him. It was not pretty, but Yhwh never doubted him.

He knows everything. He knows all your fears, all your concerns. He has it handled. Seek Him and He will give you the desires of your heart, Him. He doesn't need the county or the state to meet your needs. He already has it all laid out for you. I will not lie and say I always knew where he was taking me, but the ride was never boring.

He is good. He is going to bring you through. This is not scriptural but here is what He tells me..."I got your back."

IM me if you need to talk.

I've been missing you guys and gals so much and today, Passover, remembered the great talks we used to have (I've purposely forgotten the family squabbles ;)) and am so saddened to find this news. Heber if you had a way to America I would invite you to stay with us for as long as you needed to receive your direction but I think you are needed where you are. Of late I have been contemplating life in general and am at a point that there is nothing material in this life that I can't live without (except maybe toilet paper! :o) but then I haven't had the things I have taken from me or been given the ultimatum to give them up as you have. But since you have, wouldn't it be better to look forward to what HaShem has in store for you for following your conscience? (which is just another word for the still small voice of him that lives inside you.) I am not looking for that day of retirement, I am looking for that day soon when I will hear, "Well done, good and faithful servant". That is all life carries for me, how I am seen in his eyes, and if he makes sure that the Sparrows have food, how much more-so, you?

This is a time of testing, so, Hazak! Hazak! Be filled with Joy not sorrow, the Joy of the L-RD and who He has promised in His word for you IS YOUR STRENGTH! :amen:

I know this may seem weird if you come and read this since I haven't been around for almost two years but He also works in mysterious ways to, no?

I know we are past Purim but I think the lesson that Esther learned and we all learn from her is that He 'plants' people in places, times and circumstances that are all part of His plan and He never fails us. Sadly it is us who fail to trust, just as Father Abraham did when he went in to Hagar, but if he had trusted and waited for G-ds timing we wouldn't have the troubles we have now. So we must wait and KNOW deep down that His ways are perfect and so is His timing and He is never late, and He knows your every breath, and your every move, trust Him to have laid it all out for you for your good and the good of His Kingdom, for that is what we are here for, to do His will even when we don't understand, even when we can't see what's ahead, even if we do know what is ahead like Yeshua at this very time years ago. Know that He is there waiting for us and will never leave us.

This verse just came to me from Hebrews so it must be for you.

Your life should be free from the love of money. Be satisfied with what you have, for He Himself has said, I will never leave you or forsake you.
I am not saying this, mind you, but this is the whole verse, I know nothing but what you've written, what came to me was that He will never leave us but it is interesting that it talks about being free from money, I think that enslaves us and makes us dependent on ourselves and not our creator, maybe it is time to become dependent on Him even moreso than in the past? I don't know but He does and you do maybe, so I will let you meditate on this word and tell you that you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Wishing you Chag Sameach!
