What would be a good ending for Lost?

I think a good ending would be that most people will be satisfied. If people like the ending of Lost then they will buy all the books, posters and dvd's of all the seasons.

I have dvd's of seasons 1 and 2, but if the ending is not very good I will not bother to buy the other 4 seasons of Lost. I really want there to be a good ending that makes sense and not about writers who like cgi and want to see a smoke monster get rid of everyone on the island.

There has to be more to it than that right?

I hope the writers get it right and make a good ending or there will be a lot of dvd's left on the store shelf.

Just my opinions. What are your thoughts?

I trust the writers. I trust Team Darlton when they say they've known from Day 1 where they were going with the story. I think they're going to blow us away.

Not every question will be answered, I'm sure, they've said as much. But I think the big mysteries will be resolved, and that's good enough for me.

4 ways Lost can end.

1. They all survive (Happy but safe ending)

2. They all perish. (Sad and shocking ending)

3. They outsmart Jacob and Mib even if someone sacrifices themselves to save the others. (Could be a good ending)

4. An impossible fantasy ending that no one saw coming and that no one could possibly believe. (Say what?)

What kind of ending you you like to see? What if Lost can't think if a good ending? What if the writers built it up so much and wrote themselves into a corner?

I wonder how it will all end?

Since they knew how it was going to end from the very beginning, I don't see any way for them to have written themselves into a corner. They're just going to play out their Day 1 idea.

I agree with AirPo, I think 1, 2, and 3 of those options. And there are probably others we haven't thought of.

Are you having Lost anxiety, Catholic Friend?

Kind of snoochface. It has been a fun ride so far and we all hope it will have a great ending.

Also a lot of fans will miss Lost once it ends. Can there ever be a show as great as this one?

Flash Forward on ABC is ok, but I don't like the characters as much or the plot line.

Some people did not like season 5 of Lost, but I thought it had more suspense than we have so far in season 6. Just my opinion, but I still like the show.

By the way someone is numbering the episodes wrong. Check tv.com - Lost episodes for the correct number. Thank you.

The episode titles need to be added to the old threads anyway, so I'll compile a list and ask a mod to fix that ;)

Ok...for some reason I keep remembering a statement made by one of the creative genius's behind the series...something along the lines of 'Is it really even an island?'

Thus far, we know that

1) The island moves about.

2) The island, or the energy beneath it, is linked to other pockets of similiar energy around the world.

3) The island, despite being fairly sizable, is also effectively invisibile. Not only that, unless you are on exactly the correct approach heading, you can pass fairly close to it (close enough to panic a sane mariner) and not even see the dang thing. Likewise, you cannot leave the island except on the correct heading or via an energy vortex.

4) Some of the energies at play on and beneath the island are nothing short of 'miraculous' (pardon the pun) - we have near miracle level healing powers, time travel, and teleportation...plus more conventional extreme magnetism.

Given all this, I have been wondering for a while now it what we see of the island - the trees and plants and waterfalls and mountains and all - are not actually a mask or 'illusion' of some sort, covering something much, much stranger.

I have a suspicion that the series ends in such a way as to expose whats really there and at the same time render whats really there...not relevant, or destroyed somehow.

That said, right now, if any of the lostaways does manage to take Jacobs place, and that really is a one man job, then the one best suited for the position is Hurley.
