You should look up various translations of the Bible. They are not all thee's and thou's.

If you believe in something perhaps you can tell me what that something is?What all religions are really saying to me.. is that we believe in something.
I think the ones with the most followers have kept them, I like them because it takes you back to a time when the Bible was considered to the whole truth and nothing but the truth, if you questioned the Bible you questioned the whole fabric of society. You should look up various translations of the Bible. They are not all thee's and thou's.
You like the thee's and thou's do you? they crack me up as well, but they are absolutely necessary for the verses to swing along, plus without them they wouldn't carry the same weight, would they?
If they rewrote the bible using modern language I think Christians would file out of churches and never go back,
they like the idea of age and permanency in their bible, the thee's and thou's somehow instill a sense of comfort.
You do know that there are plenty of modern translations of the Bible, don't you? And you also know that there are plenty of other religions besides Christianity, many of which not only do not feature books written in early modern English, but also lacking any of the features you attribute to "Religion".You like the thee's and thou's do you? they crack me up as well, but they are absolutely necessary for the verses to swing along, plus without them they wouldn't carry the same weight, would they?

My age has nothing to do with it, in fact I could ask you the same thing, what are you doing still believing the stories you were told as a child? and if you were not told the stories what are you doing believing them now? you are grown up now and should know better.Allow me to ask you a personal question at this point, dingdong:
how old are you, exactly?
It's not that I'd wish to discriminate against you based on your age or anything. There's plenty of wisdom to be found in unlikely places, regardless of physical age. It's just that... well, knowing your age might actually restore some of my faith in humanity.

Well, we do know that her reputation is "beyond repute".Allow me to ask you a personal question at this point, dingdong:

And Lo! What cracks me up is more recent scripture thats penned in this anachronistic diction, to lend it a veneer of authenticity. You like the thee's and thou's do you? they crack me up as well, but they are absolutely necessary for the verses to swing along, plus without them they wouldn't carry the same weight, would they?

Please tell me where the wisdom is in old myths about supernatural beings, I don't deny the Bible and the other religious books contain some solid ideas about life and living but the idea that there is another life after this one is nothing more than wishful thinking.
I truly believe that religions do more harm than good.
.
The point I am trying to make is that there is nothing there so religious people believe in nothing,
please feel free to prove me wrong at any time.
It's not me saying there are supernatural beings flying around, if I said I believed in the FSM you would be well within your rights to ask me where he was, so, where is this God everyone keeps talking about? anyone seen or heard from him lately? How about you prove yourself right?
She should know better than to ask for proof for OR against gods. We all should. How about you prove yourself right?

A really good friend of mine thought the same thing for years. Then she realized it was just her best-conscience she was talking to, or something like that. It sounds like such a "relationship" can be very valuable.I hear and talk to Him everyday....wanna prove me wrong?
So you believe not because there is a God but because no one can prove that there is no God,I hear and talk to Him everyday....wanna prove me wrong?
So you believe not because there is a God but because no one can prove that there is no God,
that sounds about the only thing you could do when there is nothing there to believe in anyway.

Take a look around the world and you will see that the most desperately poor countries on earth are the most religious (apart from the oil rich countries, and they would be if they didn't have oil)Why?
