There are many orginzations that call themselves Catholic, that are not in union with the Church or its teaching. Here is a list of dissenting orgnizations that faithful Catholics must watch out for

8th Day Center for Justice
Heavily earth and creation centered, they "uphold the right to dissent against oppressive structures in church and society." Supportive of Pax Christi. Also supports the homosexual lifestyle: "The Center has long supported Jeanine Gramick, SSND and Bob Nugent, SDS for their work with the homosexual community..."(both religious were condemned by the Vatican for promoting active homosexuality). Supports Call to Action.
A Call to Action
The most visible dissenting group which is a movement of laity and religious seeking to reform the "sinful structure" of the "patriarchal" Church. One could call them the "mother of all dissenting groups" - feminist pun intended. CTA is infamous since its 1994 conference coverage on the CBS news program 60 Minutes. CTA promotes dissent against Church teachings on a broad front, including women's ordination, homosexuality, creation spirituality, married priesthood, and liturgical reforms, while incorporating new age and Wiccan spirituality. Bishop Bruskewitz excommunicated those that belong to this group in his Diocese. Many members belong to local groups called "small faith communities." Renew 2000 also promotes small faith communities. Membership draws heavily from former clergy, feminist nuns, and homosexuals. Members staff COR. CTA serves on the national task force for the We Are Church referendum. Get a more complete understanding of their position from their own information. For a list of their speakers at the 2004 conference, click here.
American Old Catholic Church
This group directly states their differences from being real Catholics. They:

  • do not accept the teaching of papal infallibility
  • claim independence of the pope
  • refuse to be bound by some of the canon laws and regulations
  • permit priests and bishops to marry
  • encourage women to be ministers of the church (priestesses)
  • allow divorced but not annulled people who remarry to participate in the sacraments
  • allow artificial contraception
  • invite all baptized Christians to the sacraments, regardless of the state of their souls (i.e. mortal sins, many of which are listed above) thus encouraging sacrilege
Association for the Rights of Catholics in the Church
Promotes a so-called "democratic" church whereby the people vote for their own doctrine, and support of pluralism ("believe what you want") via a "Constitution" and a "Catholic Bill of Rights." (Vatican II already gave us a Constitution.) Sample "rights" include self-determined divorce and remarriage, contraception, and homosexual relationships. Also calls for elected pastors, bishops, and pope. Part of the task force of the We Are Church referendum. Most members also are members of CTA. Membership draws heavily from ex-clergy, and disaffected nuns. Member of Catholic Organizations for Renewal. Protestant churches are "democratic."
Association of Pittsburgh Priests
Member of Catholic Organizations for Renewal.
Catholics for a Free Choice (CFFC)
Promotes artificial contraceptive "rights," including abortion. Their focus is the "intersection of Catholic teaching and public policy." Bishop Bruskewitz excommunicated those that belong to this group in his Diocese. Member of Catholic Organizations for Renewal. They have been condemned by the National Conference of Catholic Bishops (NCCB).
Catholic Pastoral Committee on Sexual Minorities (CPCSM)
Advocate of an active homosexual and transgender lifestyle based in the Minneapolis / St. Paul, Minnesota area, "on behalf of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) persons." This group has its roots in the more widely known homosexual group Dignity.
Catholics Speak Out
Advocate of homosexuality and artificial birth control. Member of Catholic Organizations for Renewal and a sub-group of the Quixote Center.
Catholic Theological Society of America (CTSA)
Promotes dissent against Magisterial teachings and questions the authority of said teachings. A "theological wasteland" according to Bernard Cardinal Law (June 18, 1997).
Celibacy Is the Issue
Promotes active sacramental ministry for former priests who are now married. Administers a "Rent-A-Priest" program providing former priests for parishes without a priest, or to perform marriages not sanctioned by the Church (i.e. homosexual "marriages") and to conduct illicit Masses. Member of Catholic Organizations for Renewal.
Center for Action and Contemplation (CAC)
Not an organization per se, but a conference center for seminars and workshops working with the Enneagram -- an occult system of personality assessment. CAC features dissident speakers at its seminars and training workshops. Active in fostering dissident networking: "We envision CAC as a faith alternative to the dominant consciousness." See also the detailed review by Stephanie Block.
Challenge the Church
Based in Canada, promotes many dissenting opinions, including "female led liturgies," abortion, and inappropriate sexuality. (See Catholic Civil Rights League Volume 4, No. 3 issue).
Coalition of Concerned Canadian Catholics
Member of Catholic Organizations for Renewal.
Conference for Catholic Lesbians
Advocate of female homosexuality.
Core Of Retired Priests United for Service (CORPUS)
Former priests who advocate married priests. Most are married, and they perform illicit priestly ministries. Their founder Padovano is a prominent figure in Call To Action. CORPUS was instituted to provide support and fraternal affiliation for former priests. Member of Catholic Organizations for Renewal.
Dignity USA
Advocate of homosexual "rights," including "marriage" within the Church. They form local chapters to provide "spiritual" support for practicing homosexuals who want to pursue full sacramental participation and ministerial duties. Vehemently opposed to COURAGE, the homosexual support organization promoting abstinence. Member of Catholic Organizations for Renewal.
Federation of Christian Ministries
Member of Catholic Organizations for Renewal.
Fellowship of Southern Illinois Laity
A group which proposes Church reform in Call to Action style. Member of Catholic Organizations for Renewal.
Franciscan Companions of the Immaculate
After their self-admitted schism from the Catholic Church, this group of religious joined the so-called "United American Catholic Church." This group dissents against Catholic teaching on a wide basis, including divorce/re-marriage, homosexuality, and "Mother God." Although claiming to follow authentic Catholic spirituality, this group incorporates Buddhist concepts and promotes as "His Holiness" as a title for the eastern pagan religious leader Dalai Lama instead of the Pope.
FutureChurch
A regional parish-based coalition seeking to address the priest shortage. FutureChurch claims the remedy is the ordination of married men and women. FutureChurch engages in educational presentations to parishes, grass-roots organizations, and the media. Its current project is a nationally-promoted dialogue on an "inclusive priesthood." Member of Catholic Organizations for Renewal.
Jesus Seminar
A seminar in which we are supposedly to learn what Jesus "really meant" in the Gospels. Much material follows the modernist liberal dissenting views which go against Church teachings.
Leadership Conference of Women Religious
Feminist led group of religious sisters. They promote dissent against Vatican decrees regarding other dissenters such as Sr. Jeannine Gramick. They whine about the "patriarchy" in the Church, embrace creation spirituality, and demand "gender-equality," such as women priests (as evidenced by then-head Sr. Theresa Kane chiding the Pope during his 1979 visit to the USA). In addition, they spend time in politics lobbying Congress and promote United Nations secular initiatives such as the Earth Charter (consistent with eco-feminism) and International Criminal Court (along with the NETWORK organization).
Los Angeles Religious Education Congress
Not an organization per se, but rather an annual event for "religious" education covering the full gamut of dissenting topics and associated speakers. Sponsored by Cardinal Roger Mahoney.
National Coalition Of American Nuns
Bills itself as a "grassroots" organization for nuns concerned with "sinful structures" of society and church. Members work as advocates for social justice causes and promoting equality of women. Promotes gender-adjusted language, women's ordination, etc. Member of Catholic Organizations for Renewal.
National Association of Catholic Diocesan Lesbian and Gay Ministries (NACDLGM)
An organization trying to keep a lower profile, they err by failing to (i.e. oppress) provide the truth of the Church teachings. Rather, they promote documents which are not formal Church teaching, such as that titled 'Always Our Children.' They state "As baptized persons, lesbian and gay Catholics share the rights of all the baptized: 'to receive the sacraments, to be nourished with the Word of God and to be sustained by the other spiritual helps of the Church' (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1269)." However, they do not indicate that chastity is required, nor that active homosexuality is not acceptable whatsoever, nor that gays and lesbians living in sin are not eligible for the Sacraments except Confession/Reconciliation and repentance.
National Conference of Independent Catholic Bishops (NCICB)
Group for Bishops which may or may not have an active jurisdiction. Supports the active homosexual lifestyle as part of their "social justice" ministry. On their support of homosexual unions, they complain that the Catholic Church "hold and espouse such narrow-minded, exclusive and socially unjust beliefs."

NETWORK
A group, billing itself as a Catholic Social Justice Lobby, was founded by several feminist nuns, including Sr. Carol Coston, O.P., in 1971. They promote eco-feminism as well as socialism and marxist concepts. According to Coston, their staff have developed their own feminist "rituals" for office events, legislative seminars and "eucharistic celebrations." For a so-called social justice group, they are amazingly silent on the social injustice of abortion and euthansia. They present at Call To Action events and are recommended by Call To Action.
New Ways Ministries
Militant advocate of homosexuality which also demands ordination and ministry for homosexuals. Primary effort is educational workshops and seminars to identify and eliminate "homophobia" in the Church. Member of Catholic Organizations for Renewal. See also the review by Donna Steichen.
One Catholic Voice for Action-
Group which promotes women priests (so-called "inclusive" and "gender status"), selection of clergy via popular vote (e.g. so-called "democratic"), disordered lifestyles of active homosexuality (so-called "sexuality status"), among other things. Directors include those from Renew 2000 and "gay and lesbian rights programs," among others.
Pax Christi
(cited in Renew 2000)
This group may be the most widely recognized leftist organization to American Catholics. Long a proponent of nonviolence, Pax Christi promotes "action to transform structures of society." Aligned with liberation theology, "ecological justice," and the usual litany of modernist demands. A member of Catholic Organizations for Renewal.
Priests for Equality
Promotes women priests ("priestesses") and married priests. Member of Catholic Organizations for Renewal and a sub-group of the Quixote Center. Also pursuing inclusive language Scripture translation.
Promises
A small group devoted to support women intimately involved with a Catholic priest. A member of Catholic Organizations for Renewal.
Quixote Center
Pursues the full range of "peace and justice" issues. The Quixote Center, promotes liberation theology in this hemisphere. The Quixote Center, opposed to U.S. foreign policy, frequently poses as the "Catholic" voice to the media on U.S. involvement in Latin America. Member of Catholic Organizations for Renewal. Quixote Center is the parent group for Priests for Equality and Catholics Speak Out.
Rainbow Sash Movement
Organization of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender "Catholics" who "demand" that the Church change its teachings on homosexuality so that they can live out their lives of burning intrinsically disordered lust. (See Romans 1:26-27)
Religious Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen (Congregatio Mariae Reginae Immaculatae - CMRI)
As a Sedevacantist organization, the Religious Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen (Congregatio Mariae Reginae Immaculatae - CMRI) claims that Vatican II and all popes after Pius XII are heretical and false, as well as that the Novus Ordo Mass is invalid.
Sex Information and Education Council for the United States (SIECUS)
("education" organization dealing with religion)
From their own manifesto: "..integrates wisdom about sexuality ...; full inclusion of women and sexual minorities in the congregational life, including their ordination and blessing of same sex unions; sexuality counseling ... commitment to sexual and reproductive rights, including access to voluntary contraception, abortion ..." They have promoted a "Religious Declaration in Sexual Morality, Justice and Healing" which has been approved by several Catholic dissenters.
Society of St. Pius X (SSPX)
Schismatic group formerly headed by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre who illicitly consecrated bishops against the expressed instructions of the Roman Pontiff. They refuse to submit in obedience to the Holy Father. Note: the leadership of this group seems to be working with the Vatican to end its schism. Let us all hope and pray that this comes to pass. For more info, please read this.
TARA: Therapy and Renewal Associates
Described as an outpatient psychotherapy resource for clergy, members of religious communities, lay ministers, other professional adults, couples and families, and co-directed by dissenters Sr. Fran Ferder and Fr. John Heagle, they counsel that sodomy and a homosexual lifestyle is perfectly acceptable.
True Catholic
Sedevacantist group which has "elected a Pope Pius XIII" and promotes documents such as "101 Heresies of John Paul II." They refuse to submit in obedience to the Holy Father.
United American Catholic Church
A schismatic group, "The United American Catholic Church is a federation of interdependent Catholic Churches, offering a progressive alternative to Roman and Anglican Catholicism." "United American Catholic Church is one of many Catholic jurisdictions that have emerged from Roman Catholicism in 1870 ... Rejecting the 'new' Catholicism of Pope Pius IX, the European Catholics established their own churches as 'Autocephalous Catholics' or 'Old Catholics.'" This group dissents against Catholic teaching on a wide basis, including divorce / re-marriage, homosexuality, women / married priests, "Mother God" and the primacy of the Pope, but claim that they are not heretical. Also supportive of Call to Action.
Voice of the Faithful (VOTF)
From their mission statement, they are attempting to "3. Shape structural change within Church." This is intended to make a "democratic" Church which clearly violates the hierarchical structure which has always existed and is reemphasized in Vatican II Lumen Gentium. The chairman James Muller states in a National Catholic Reporter article on April 26, 2002, ÏWe have donation without representation, and we have to change that.Ó Also on a CNN interview dated April 29, 2002, the chairman desires cafeteria Catholicism: "... our goal is to provide a democracy for the laity, so that the laity can decide what they want and then counterbalance the absolute power, which we have now of the hierarchy." See more details below.
We are Church
Hatched from Call to Action, they are a petition group pushing for radical changes in church teaching through political pressure ("referendums," lobbying and the like).
White Robed Monks of St. Benedict
A neo-Gnostic group which incorporates Zen Buddhism concepts. They minister to "the Catholic [who] has outgrown the co-dependent need to adhere to an institutional church: its petty, bureaucratic, authoritarian, dictatorial, patriarchal, unresponsive ways. He or she is no longer co-dependent on religion to tell him or her what to do and how to do it." Also embracing Jungian psychology and feminist theology ("sophia wisdom"), they will accept any faith (indifferentism): "Membership any church is not a prerequisite to be a White Robed Monk." Yet they still claim: "The White Robed Monks of St. Benedict are neither Roman Catholic nor Old Catholic, Liberal Catholic nor Eastern Catholic. The White Robed Monks are just Catholic."
Women-Church
Promotes women priests ("priestesses").
Women's Ordination Conference (WOC)
WOC promotes women priests ("priestesses"). WOC is characterized by strong language denouncing "the patriarchal church" and the papacy of John Paul II. WOC leaders have suggested "new" sacraments that mark stages in a woman's life. Example: "Sacrament of Croning" at age fifty to herald the coming of "Wisdom." A recent WOC conference claimed ordination meant subordination; consequently, ordination needs to be Reconstructed. It is not unusual for WOC meetings to begin with an invocation to a pagan goddess, and may feature a pagan ritual meal. Member of Catholic Organizations for Renewal.
Women's Ordination Worldwide (WOW)
Promotes women priests ("priestesses").
Women in Church Leadership (WICL)
Promotes women priests ("priestesses").
Women's Alliance for Theology Ethics and Ritual (WATER)
Emphasis is on "inclusiveness," in liturgy and re-interpretation of the Scriptures to the radical feminist view.
Catholic Organizations for Renewal (COR)
Not an organization per se, but a forum where many dissenting organizations plot their attack on the teachings of Jesus' Church. Their proclaimed mission is:

  • a coalition of Catholic groups, inspired by Vatican II, [an indicator of the modernist "spirit of Vatican II" - see one member below with that name]
  • to further the reform and renewal of the Catholic Church, and [Martin Luther also "reformed" the church and established a church of man based on his personal beliefs - all heretics have done so in the past. Why is COR any different?]
  • to bring about a world of justice and peace, reflecting the sacredness of all creation." [sacred creation is a pagan belief; true peace and justice result from following God's teachings, not opposing them]

Did you compile this list yourself, Creed? There's no indication as to who compiled it (probably because they would be too embarrassed to claim ownership of such a biased, slanderous compilation, or perhaps because they fear a lawsuit.)

And why is the LCWR, which represents 95% of all women religious, on the list based on speculation, innuendo, and prejudice?

That might be a useful document if it were made more objective in its language and clearly distinguished between groups that are formally separated from Rome verses ones that Rome (or someone) might be unhappy about or are simply being investigated.

Well, Creed, if it's your list, and you belief in honesty and self-respect, take the LCWR off the list immediately.

it isn't my list, click the links

They are organizations that have either been excommunicated by the Church, or have open contradictory teaching. no need to get into such a hoot. Are you a member of some of these dissident groups??

i posted this list to help Catholics. There are people who think that just because the word Catholic is in an organization that it is automatically in union with Rome. The list helps Catholics with that distinction. What if you were a faithful Catholic who soon found out your organization was excommunicated and was teaching things contradictory to your faith? It does a disservice to laymen because it causes confusion and schism.

They have many links to the bishops excommunications and declarations of these groups. You have to do your study first..

lol, is that a threat? ourladyswarriors compiled it

Its funny how liberals become anti-freedom of speech all of a sudden.. hmm.. The LCWR was investigated and they found quite some odd things..

I believe this is the reason why its on that list

This LCWR study was undertaken to provide descriptive data to enhance understanding of the manner in which the non-ordained participate in the practice of jurisdiction in the United States. The project is one of the ways in which LCWR has contributed to dialogue about ways in which those who are not ordained can participate more fully in governance in the Roman Catholic Church.
The project was also done in response to the call of Pope John Paul II and the bishops of the United States to foster greater involvement of women in the leadership and operations of the church, and thus focuses specifically on women's participation in governance. The research concentrates on the experience of women in six roles within the church: chancellor, tribunal judge, finance director, director of Catholic Charities, vicar/delegate for religious, and pastoral director of a parish.

One can clearly see the undertones here....there is no imprimatur either

http://catholickey.blogspot.com/2009/04/why-lcwr-is-being-investigated.html

and

The dynamic option for Religious Life, which I am calling, Sojourning, is much more difficult to discuss, since it involves moving beyond the Church, even beyond Jesus. A sojourning congregation is no longer ecclesiastical. It has grown beyond the bounds of institutional religion. Its search for the Holy may have begun rooted in Jesus as the Christ, but deep reflection, study and prayer have opened it up to the spirit of the Holy in all of creation. Religious titles, institutional limitations, ecclesiastical authorities no longer fit this congregation, which in most respects is Post-Christian.

As one sister described it, "I was rooted in the story of Jesus, and it remains at my core, but I've also moved beyond Jesus." The Jesus narrative is not the only or the most important narrative for these women. They still hold up and reverence the values of the Gospel, but they also recognize that these same values are not solely the property of Christianity. Buddhism, Native American spirituality, Judaism, Islam and others hold similar tenets for right behavior within the community, right relationship with the earth and right relationship with the Divine. With these insights come a shattering or freeing realization--depending on where you stand. Jesus is not the only son of God. Salvation is not limited to Christians. Wisdom is found in the traditions of the Church as well as beyond it.

Here's another heretical quote from her:

From her book Beyond Patching: Faith and Feminism in the Catholic Church
(Mahwah, NJ, Paulist Press, 1991, page 110.):

"When the first Women's Ordination Conference met in Detroit in 1975, the women who attended were focused on...the admission of women to orders.....Since 1978, women have come to realize that...we are not talking about how to organize the institution. We are talking about whether the God of Judeo-Christian revelation is true God or just men-writ-large to legitimate their domination; whether Jesus, an historical male, is or can be messiah and savior for those who are not male; whether what the church has called sacraments are really encounters with Christ, or tools of male ritual abuse of women; whether what we have called church is a community of salvation or simply a male power structure.

One of the worst things about American Catholicism is its militia of feminist nuns, who long ago decided that the Magisterium was too restricting for them, and that if they couldn’t be priests they could at least swan around like them, issuing bossy diktats about “being Church”.

How satisfying, then, to learn that the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith is launching a “doctrinal assessment” of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR), a stronghold of the finger-wagging, right-on sisterhood. They’re furious, of course! And so is the National Catholic Reporter, a weekly whingefest of “empowered” laity and their priest lackeys. Here is the NCR’s report of Rome’s decision.
Cardinal William Levada, Prefect of the CDF, has announced the assessment in the light of the sisters’ insistence on challenging Church teaching on women priests, non-Catholic churches and homosexuality at their dreary conferences.
To give you a flavour of the LCWR, here’s part of their mission statement: “Developing models for initiating and strengthening relationships with groups concerned with the needs of society, thereby maximizing the potential of the conference for effecting change.” We’re not talking Mother Teresa here, we really aren’t.
Note the comments underneath the NCR report. “Ratzi the Nazi” begins one, predictably, while another says: “I get the feeling that Rome is going to nail Christ to the cross all over again.”
Really? I get the feeling that Rome is going to ask its radical American nuns to be Catholics. I don’t fancy its chances.

i think THATs the reason why its on that list. Pretty obvious

Time to go ladies....
