  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Just as a sidenote to my above post...

I don't know for sure if she is in heaven with the Lord or in hell now. Only the Lord knows this. As for the video...that proves nothing really. Even the devil believes in God.

What I meant was that we are sooooooo, sooooooooooo apathetic when it comes to our own (and even more shockingly as Christians) and other people's eternal destiny. We shy away as if we are almost embaressed to even mention hell in a sermon these days incase we offend someone...

Well there are going to be a lot of offended people in the lake of fire because those with the truth failed to tell them about heaven and hell. I know I'd rather offend them here on earth than pass up the chance to tell them what God's Word says.

So...for what you said Bro...I agree with you 100%

I just hope she made the right decision.

I agree that people should be taught about hell and the consequences of not choosing Christ, but I think that it should be a message that is preached in love not with condemnation and self-righteousness. You want to win people over to Christ rather than push them away, which is what most tend to do. Quite frankly, I think that's something we could possibly be held accountable for.

Agreed.

However...I think a lot of people get all bent out of shape as soon as you say that we should tell people about hell; almost as if you are automatically being self-righteous by mentioning it to the lost. I think it should be done in a loving way...but never compromised. When you look at the Lord...He never compromised on the truth in the gospels.

I think its real evil for someone to condemn someone to hell. I mean really evil and uncalled for. Nobody even knows how she died and no one know the conversation she had with God before she passed. You dont even know if she did or didnt have a convo...that is evil.

I think soo many people need to realize they are the ones that needs to focus on their salvation because if your not living and walking in His Holy Spirit continually then you might as well consider yourself right along with those you condemn to hell.

I agree. Actually, I agree with both leo and welshman. It is sometimes a fine line between condemnation and concern. I know that when I give advice, I sometimes have to be careful of the tone that I use, as this can make what I say sound harsher than it is. This is even harder on the internet.
