How would you prove the Universe is old?

Death/sin is our enemy, and God's. If we were kept from seeing "the other side," I think we were something like "robots."

They had free-will before the Fall, and God was with them because they had not sinned yet.

Since they had free will before the Fall, they weren't robots. God was with them until they did exactly what He predicted they would do before he plopped the tree in the middle of their home, because of the free will He gave to them. He knew it would happen before it happened and He still planted the tree. That's evil.

No, look again. Paul said that. My point is that we wouldn't have sinned if God hadn't intentionally put the mechanism in our midst to make it happen.

I will not be able to prove that the universe is old, because I, personally, only believe it to be about 6,000 years old. (I don't know if you consider that to be old or not, but I don't.)

We live in the present. Trying to use material that is in the present to determine the past is hard. So "scientific" methods (by scientists who weren't there) are often not trustworthy. They change over the years.


But God was there, and He doesn't change. That is why I trust Him and His Word. And, a lot of the time "evidence for evolution" is also evidence for creation.

I don't claim to know why God does what he does. No human, in this age anyway, can. So we can only speculate:

• God knows what will happen, and what we will do. But we, ourselves, don't. So God tests us so our with will grow, and so we know more about ourselves.
• Without Satan, Adam and Eve wouldn't have eaten the fruit, and all was "very good." But after creation, Lucifer and his angels rebelled. Then Satan tempted Adam and Eve, and they sinned.

The authors of the Bible were inspired by God. You could say that they were the "mouthpieces."

30-year-olds have more experience in the world, and know what will happen if they randomly shoot someone.

A 2-year-old has probably seen toy guns before, and nothing really happens if he points and shoots it at someone. Maybe just a noise.

You forget that Adam and Eve did not know good from evil. For all practical reasons, they were as children. Your "30 year old" rebuttal fails based on that fact.

Since I created my children, I have a right to rule over them and give them commands.

Does that mean they have to care? What, because they are individuals with free will, is forcing them to acknowledge my authority? Or God's?
