I hear you. I used to spend 30 to 40 a week on books but now that I'm laid off I've been reduced to re-reading old books and going to the library :( .

What is with all these wide posts? CF must be hiccuping again.

Hey Christos,

It is not a bad idea to reread old books. I am reading CS Lewis' Space Trilogy for the 3rd or 4th time, I have lost track, but it has so much theological stuff in it that I can read it a 5th or 6th time and still marvel.

The Way of the Pilgrim is also a book that you can reread and like the Holy Scriptures, never really plumb the depths. I am not equating it with the Bible, but there are a lot of references to the Bible that shed new light.

The book that convinced me that I was on the right track in converting to Orthodoxy. I really need to re-read it, I will probably see it in different light now when I have a bit of a clue about the faith.

I used to read a lot while I was walking and that way I didn't fall asleep. Just have to make sure you use your periphrial vision so you don't walk into things lol. Now I just drink some expresso first. Something about reading makes me fall asleep for some reason.

I used to read a lot on public transportation. About the only time I have to read anything other than school textbooks now is in bed, before falling asleep.

I'm typically in a corner at Starbucks an hour before work.
