Hmmm...

1) Dharma land is still being built.

2) We figured out the Miles/Chang thing a while back.

3)*Again* with the 'Shadow of the Statue' thing...but this time by people who made it real clear they did not work for Widmore. Probably 'Others'. Does this make the hot bounty hunter chick an Other? One who was just pretending to be a bounty hunter working for Widmore? Or is somebody else meddling in this mess?

4) This is the second time 'Annapolis' has been mentioned as being the power that holds at least some sway over the Dharma crew. If memory serves, they be US military, specifically Navy. Hmmm..

5) Radinsky is starting to come across as a bit of a paranoid jerk. Thing is, he is a very smart paranoid jerk. I still maintain he is capable of figuring out at least part of what is going on with the lostaways, especially if he takes a bit of time out to think about it.

6) At long last, the return of Dr Daniel Faraday - the one guy who actually has some answers.

I didn't think that the episode did anything to advance the storyline at all.

The last ten seconds were interesting though. So Daniel left the island in the 1970s and returned.

Hurley was writing The Empire Strike Back. That's where the Hoth reference comes in. As far as Some Like It Hot, I can't see anything other than the title.

Speaking of special garlic mayo, I think hurley made the Dharma ranch dressing he likes so much in the future. (I may have articulated this previously)

I want him to become Mario Batali.

Quality episode, even though little happened.

After re-watching, I'm wondering... in the 2004 (island time) episode where Hurley fixes the Dharma van and goes on his joyride, what song was on the radio? There was a very familiar looking scene in this episode of the van coming over the hillside and Love Will Keep Us Together was on the radio. It made me wonder if that was an homage to the joyride episode, and if that song was playing then too. Anyone remember?

Bram (and Ilana and two other Ajira 316ers) are not with Widmore? Hmmm looks like we have a mysterious third party entrant to the storyline - the Shadow of the Statue people. I'm wondering if their are native to the island?

As for Daniel, he leave probably on the sub that Juliet and Sawyer declined. He's spent the last three years in Ann Arbor (home of the Gerald and Karen Degroot, who FOUNDED the Dharma Initiative!). I'm guessing he used that time to learn everything he could about the Island and time travel (maybe starting his journal full of notes that he would later bring to the Island in 2004)

Hurley had some great lines this episode that made me chuckle:

"You're just jealous that my powers are cooler than yours" and "Small world, your kid is named Miles too, huh?"
