Hey y'all am back
Mary and I were 'up' at 5am this morning
The taxi arrived punctually and we arrived at the hospital
almost an hour, early, for my appointed arrival time [07.30am]
nonetheless, matters, such as a staff meeting
and the guy 'before me' going in over an hour late, meant
I didn't occupy up my theatre-table until 11.45am
The 'tube' was installed
and balloons were inserted through-it and enlarged along the required length
of the designated vessel in progressively larger sizes
7x4, 8x4 and 11x4 there was, some discomfort upon inflation
and later, as these inflations were held 'open' in stretching mode
After, almost an hour the surgeon removed his 'bits and pieces'
and held the wound 'sealed' with finger pressure for around ten minutes
and then substituted my fingers for his, over a pad
I was then required to slide off of the table onto a bed
which I did... within five minutes or so
my fingers had numbed at the digit joints
and I could no-longer feel the pulse of the artery
suddenly, beneath my blanket, I felt blood squirting down my left thigh
now using the fingers of two hands
to compress the now drenched cotton gauze padding
I called to the surgeon passing by my bed
from a visit to another patient across the recovery room
"Can you help me please it's bleeding "
Within a few minutes, he was again able to get me to press against a fresh pad
After, Lunch and Tea [meals] at the hospital and with barely any blood at-all
on the replacement pad I passed through
the REST and REMOBILISATION sequences
and was able to be discharged from the hospital at a little before 6pm
I can report that I am no-longer in need of a crutch to lean on
and the only discomfort detected, is in my left calf
This may, receive attention in the coming weeks
after a follow-up exam to note the ongoing progress of these repairs
I was told that should the vessel collapse... then a stent will be inserted
to keep it from closing down
It falls to me, to thank you all
for your prayers, blessings and good wishes
and to praise Him for His grace and mercy
