ijwts- i went to the engagement party of a former roommate of mine. She is 32 and it was very encouraging to see this dream of hers become a reality. She and I have had a rocky friendship and the last time we spoke she gave me a lecture about singleness. but today as i was leaving and telling her again how happy i was for her, she gave me some encouragement and a word of hope- which was very nice.

IJWTS that I have tried tough love, every bedtime routine I can think of, rewards, punishments, begging, pleading, threatening, and even resorted to Benadryl on a couple of desperate nights to no avail

IJWTA - have you considered talking to her pediatrician and requesting a sleep study/referral to a sleep specialist? The youngest mancub is difficult to get to sleep, as well - and that's what we're doing to see if we can get the problem under control.
