So far from the RCs it is only by becoming RCso is anybody talking about how the three groups could join up agian?
I didn't bring it up a single time, actually.
However, I do believe that a rejection of the Church Jesus founded is defined as heresy.
The Church's position on heresy is much more nuanced and complicated than you seem to understand.
That is an opinion. Period.
Heresy is an introduced change to some system of belief, especially a religion, that conflicts with the previously established canon of that belief.
I didnt think so, but it's something someone may considerThat's not how I read it.
What does that have to do with God LEADING us?Not true. We disagree strongly on many important aspects of the Christian faith.
You're right, I just get discouraged.AFA this thread, I dont see the possibility of any reconciliation in light
of the fact that we speak different languages.
Love though, that's a different story. We do have that.
Reconciliation is always possible, but love is mandatory.
Otherwise, we are just clanging cymbals
well it would involve becomeing Catholic, but there are a lot of ways the Catholic Church could change, I am sure that for reunification of the EO and the RC, a lot would have to change on both sides, no doctrine ofcourse, but many of the dynamics would alterSo far from the RCs it is only by becoming RC![]()

Some of the doctrines of Protestantism that the Catholic Church considers heretical are the belief that the Bible is the only source and rule of faith ("sola scriptura"), that faith alone can lead to salvation ("sola fide") and that there is no sacramental, ministerial priesthood attained by ordination.
well it would involve becomeing Catholic,
(think I'll check back at a later time - not trying to be non-responsive)

Because WE're idiots, that means God didnt TRY to
speak to our hard hearts?
I can tell you first hand, been there done that, and a day
doesnt go by probably that I dont thank Him for trying
and persisting even though I've been stiffnecked or foolish.
quote]
That's why we are not to lean on our own understanding.
Jesus wants us unified. We won't be unified if we all believe that God is leading us in different directions.
This is why Jesus founded his Church on a single person and why he gave Peter alone the keys to the Kingdom.
No Hierarchy=No Unity.
"That they may be one as you and I are one"
Jesus and the Father don't disagree about anything.
i will do what I canSo has there been some progress on this thread? Is there an agreement to refrain from incendiary labels like heretic, for example? May the participants find involvment here as seekers after truth and, as Visionary mentioned, not as sheep-stealers? Can there be civil discussion of various ideas, leaving the barbs out? I like that Hentenza posted the forum-specific rules. That kinda settles it, doesn't it?

Sorry, but your ideas are merely religious. The catholic church could fall off the face of the planet and GOD would not blink an eye about it, and it certainly would not stop curtail what HE is currently doing with HIS body.
