• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

am I the only one who thinks that two unmarried people making out is a sin? how can people say it is not? I don't even need to say the things you'd start feeling in your body when you make out.

I know a lot of people feel that it is a sin. For example, my nuns in Catholic school instructed the girls to never let a boy kiss them, and to slap them if they tried. From their view kissing someone not your husband is a mortal sin.

There are also some Christian parents who believe the whole dating process is wrong, and counsel their young people to wait--and never date. From their view, God will bring the right person at the right time, and friendship will be built first. I believe there is merit to that view. Personally, if I was single, I would do this, I wouldn't even date.

But I don't believe making out is a sin. Yes, the body can get excited, and temptation can be overwhelming. But temptation is not sin, it's what you do with it that is a sin.

it's not a sin. if someone says it is, ask them to show you where in the bible. If they can't prove it, then they're wrong. :D Kissing is fun, but it's not sex. Don't let it lead to other things.
