Can anyone tell me about the two movies, Dr. Who and the Daleks and Daleks Invasion of the Earth 2150 A.D.? Were these movies made to be in line with the story, or were they spoofs or what??

I ordered the latter today from Amazon, but now I realize that maybe I should have ordered the other one too. Is there a third that I'm missing??!?

As far as I know, those are the only two. They are written to be movie versions of the show, not parodies, but there are significant differences from the shows that they are taken from. In the first movie, instead of a granddaughter and two teachers, it is two granddaughters and the older granddaughter's boyfriend. I did not see the Dalek Invasion Earth, 2150. I'd like to, though. (I have (had) the first one (but I accidently taped over part of it. ))

'Dalek Invasion of Earth' is essentially a condensed, slightly psychadelic version of the BBC serial. It's still got Peter Cushing as the Doctor (who's supposed to be human like he was in the Dalek movie) and it's pretty good, if nothing else the SFX of the Dalek invasion are better, like the flying saucer and the ruins of London. However they changed the climax so it's a bit daft. The characters are still interesting and everything's more or less as it was, except for Susan's a lot younger, they have his niece Louise in place of Barbera and a somewhat comic relief Bernard Cribbins instead of Ian. Naturally they had to cut out a bit of stuff It was on TV the other day so I took the oportunity to watch it. It's worth a look, especially since I'm not sure how much of the origional serial has survived, although naturally they had to take a few things out to make it fit the 90 minutes.

Hahahaha! We watched Daleks Invasion Earth 2150 A.D. this weekend! What a strange fun trip that was. Hehehe. Anyone looking for something fun to fill in the space between now and Easter when the next Dr. Who airs, go check it out! LOL

By the way, I just read that the next Dr. Who is scheduled for Easter, then one for NEXT Christmas, and then another early on in 2010.
