CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Moon is a reflection of the MorningStar
its really one of the fundamental parts of Christianity that gets under my skin. The part where one uses the bible as an excuse to never question if what they are saying is right or not. They don't think about it or try to discover if they are, they just assume they are. How can you discuss the reality of our world with someone like that?
Its ironic that many factions of Christianity think this (not all) but within these factions, they all assume it is they who are right, and not the others or are misguided or not true Christians.

My guess is that these people you refer to are always going to be ones with very little status in society. Their opinion or knowledge is not sought or respected at home or at work.
Their way to be the ones with authority and the Truth is in the Bible, or their version of it. The chance to go online and speak Truth ex cathedra seems to have an irresistible appeal to those people.
