• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yes, it gets easier with time. Time is the one thing that is different for everybody. One person may get back to the business of life fairly soon, while another may seem to take months.

You will still hurt, as there is this numb little empty hole where your loved one belongs in your life and your heart. But it gets bearable. Even though sometimes a part of you doesn't want to get along without them. Once you have given yourself time to grieve, try focusing on good things. Or writing down your memories.

I'm still praying for you.

When my mom died I searched trough my voice mail for one of her messages, but didn't find any. That's when it hit me like a ton of bricks . . . I will never hear her voice again.

All I can tell you is it will get bearable again someday, just not today. Until then trust God to lead you through it.

:prayer:

I am praying for you, Jo. I have read some of your other posts and I can see that you are having a really tough time. May the Lord bless you and bring you through this time. I, too, lost two people I loved and cared about deeply this year...my grandmother and my uncle. Then I just found out a couple days ago that a very dear member of this forum, Benjamin1981 passed away. :( Although we can never really feel each other's pain, I do know it's hard to cope with. God bless you, dear. I started a thread in the prayer requests forum where you may want to post a little rememberance of your Nan... http://christianforums.com/showthread.php?t=7325360

I pray that each and every day gets a little easier for you, Jo. I am praying.
