  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Think I'll sit down here for a bit... (8)

Too bad you couldn't toss some things out of the plane over Jersey. There's a few things you have that I like.

Well Revrand, there's always Greyhound as long as it isn't too very fragile...;)

Well Jane my better half says I need to tell you that we went to McCook and ate at Macs. Great hamburgers and homemade fries. Met some of her relatives half way from Atwood.

I am jealous! The onion rings are great too.

Whee! Just got home from our Church's Auction to benefit the remodeling of our front entry way.

Boy was it a fun time. Our highest price item went for $1200 and that person got a bargain! It was for a garage organizer system that usually sells retail for about $3000.

My parents took up very nice candle baskets with holders and candles and stuff. They went for nice prices.

I had my first "official" WildBerry Baubles jewelry items up for auction. A necklace made of sterling silver, A grade rose quartz pebbles, a dichriotic glass cross and genuine swarovski bicone crystals which I would sell for $75. It had a lot of interest but since my jewelery came last, some of the potential buyers left at the break. It only garnered $35. But that's okay. I put in a "last minute" bracelet that I've sold similar ones for $15 and it went for $50 which just amazed me. LOL

All in all, we raised about $6000 toward the cost of the refurbishment and we had a great time. *G* People donated all sorts of neat things like a gourmet lasagna dinner for 8 complete with appetizer, wines and garlic bread and salad. ($115) and a gourmet Chicken Holly dinner for 4 with wine, appetizers, salads, cheese plate and desert by our "resident" Chef ($200) fishing trips and pies and tickets to the local college football games...all in all, some great things.

Man, I'm TIRED!!! LOL

I wish I had gotten a picture of the necklace last night. *G* I'll just have to get some other gemstone pebbles and "recreate" it in a different color. *G*

Thanks Seajoy. I should post some pictures. eventually. Maybe I'll finally get a website or something. LOL

Where my parents go, they have a big auction every year to help raise money for the school. About 2 or 3 yrs ago, a bar came up for auction. it ended up my mom and the pastor bidding against it. My mother ended up winning it. The pastor came up to me and asked what it would take to get the bar from my parents. I told him it would probably be hard to get it away from my mother. LOL Each child in each classroom gets a quilt scrap and they do something with the quilt scrap, depends on the theme, then someone puts the scraps together and makes a quilt, each classroom has a quilt to auction off at the auction. They get pretty high too. Its not unusual for one of those quilts to go for a $1000 or $2000.

19 here this morning. Suppose to get to a balmy 38 and sunny today. Hey, sun! I'll take that. Had snow on Friday and Saturday, though most of it did not stay around.

Woke up about 4:30 with a head stuffed up. I am going to be so glad when the harvest is finished. Might be able to clear out the head.

Well, it's a comparitively balmy fifty-five degrees and overcast up here in Fawn Lodge. We had a bit of sleet in the last storm, but no real snow. Looks like rain tomorrow and for the rest of the week though. The kettle is singing and I've a bit of what Kay calls 'stinky tea' in the pot. Anyone for a wee cuppa? There's a plate of Snickerdoodles on the table as well. Fresh out of the oven and no nasty Soybean oil in them. I use coconut oil lard. Best of all, you can have as many as you like as there's no calories in e-food.;):D

Mmm snickerdoodles. One of my favorite indie perfumers has a "snickerdoodle" scent out for the holidays. It's in my shopping basket. *G*

No thanks on the stinky tea but if you have some mint wandering around looking for a home, I'll have a cup.

The quilt idea is a great idea! I'll have to mention that if we do another auction!

Today was 28 when I went to diabetes education class and it's supposed to hit 40. Tomorrow we're supposed to be at the mid 60s and then this weekend we'll have snow. Welcome to Ohio! *G*

You seem to be in hot water here lately, too, Zec. You bad boy! ;)

Wait just a cotton pickin' minute. Where else am I in hot water? Anyway, I can't help it. This is how I am. Much like Opera music, you either love me or hate me. There is no in-between. ^_^
