• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I really didn't expect Obama to win...

No...I think it's called truth in Scripture...
It's called a new heremenutic for intepretation of Revelations. Learn your church history and you'll see.

*sigh* This so reminds me of the calvary chapel everytime I go to their church on Friday. THE END IS NEAR! DONT BE BAD OR YOU WILL MISS THE RAPTURE!

Dude...I'm not going to argue this with you...I posted Scripture...simple as that...

it always amazes me...how Scripture just seems to irritate some folks...

it says what it says...take it however you like.

Neither for me :D

Eschatology is too obscure for me to argue for or against.

Bummer. I was hoping you'd start a thread on it here at some point. It's very interesting stuff, even if it is difficult. And you always jump in whenever someone mentions the end times around here. ;)

I heard that most Latinos (like myself) usually vote republican because they tend to be pro-life but this election with the big promises of economic help after the market lows have caused a big shift in focus.

I guess I might have guessed that as Texas went for McCain, but maybe you can add perspective. What happened for them to swing their vote, was all the balloney promises or what?

Are you saying that me a christian is irritated by scripture? Or am I being irritated by the framework you are presenting scripture?

Pretty much, the baby issue just isn't a big deal compared to the economic crisis.

I'm not confused by it, I probably have a better understanding of it than you do. It's just annoying to see people try to relate world events to scripture when clearly scripture should be interpreted by scripture.

Sola Scriptura no? Or Sola Events?

Take it however you wish...:)

My lil simple sentence doesn't change the truth

It's pretty clear:

2Ti 3:1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:
2Ti 3:2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,...

Now when those days are...your guess is as good as mine...

And I think as Des mentioned...perhaps you would like to start a thread of your own...that would be great...;)...rather than derail this one with even the slightest mention of anything remotely that could just MAYBE be referring even an iota to end times...

...reminds me of my dogs when they EVEN THINK they hear the cookie jar and come runnin'...and sadly for them...I'm just moving it while cleaning the counter...

My POINT was this...

It doesn't surprise me that many in this country and around world put a higher value on money...than they do freedom, liberty and Godly standards...

SIMPLE...

Have a great day!

Gee wonder why the bible says that no one knows when Jesus will return.

is this serious?
you think we're claiming a date and time (day or hour) by saying the time is NEAR or close?

Now I see the problem
anyhoooo, I agree, feel free to go start a thread on it if you want to continue that

You were quoting scripture in the premill framework yes or no? Yes.

And I already explained why I bring it up. It's lame to see how people try to explain world events by using the bible. It's just a really bad hermenutic.

But like everyone said, ANYWAYS....back to how evil Obama is and how is the future anti Christ

It's called transposing one's thoughts onto another...

typical tactic of those who wish to soapbox their personal agendas.

Now...I think I'll go take a much needed nap...:)

Oh for heaven's sake...no...I was quoting what Scripture has to say about men becoming lovers of money...

YOU...my friend turned it into a premil argument...

Now...If I give you a cookie...will you trot off to munch on it...like my beloved dogs?

^_^

ps...I do believe we are in the end times (when Jesus will return...no idea)...but that was not my thoughts for posting that Scripture...just to be clear
