  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Think I'll sit down here for a bit... (8)

We have seen a momma bear and her cubs in a tree once when we went to the smokies, closest I've been to one out in the open, seen them in zoo's before

Actually, when it comes to momma bears and their cubs, I'd much rather see them in the zoo. In person can be terrifying. Yeah, the cubs are cute and cuddly looking, but momma is a formidable body guard!

Saw a Cibit cat this evening just as I got home. Stinky lil' fella.

Chilly in here... Since no-one's around, I'll just leave a little note here on the table.

Looks like I'll have to stay home from work tomorrow. Penny simply won't stay home and I just may have to pen her and the boys. So that means building a pen. Oh... joy.:sigh: She's going to get tied up first thing in the morning. That way I don't have to go down to the fire station and retrieve her again. Not that they really mind her visiting...

Well, I'll be back in the morning with a wee cuppa for anyone who's interested. Just might bake up some Snickerdoodles and Short Bread for a plate of biscuits.

Cheers!

Well, I am here, but will take off in a little bit. Busy doing laundry and packing. Yeah, heading out on another trip. This time, my oldest was wanting to go visit his cousin in Taiwan and see what all is happening there as far as spreading the Word and life in general. Since he got laid off from his job and is not working, now was as good as time as any. So, off into the wild blue yonder we will be going on Thursday. Today is a day of laundry, tying up loose ends and packing.

Another thing. Could us some prayers here. Hubby is thinking about doing a year sabbatical and is working on something. Won't go into details right now, but keep a praying that things work out. It is going to take some time to put everything into place.

Edited to add: Latebloomer, people around here don't know about this yet. We are in the fact finding stage right now. So, shhh!!! okay.

Good morning, good morning.. (bustles in with a steaming plate of biscuits), sorry I'm a wee bit late. Then again (puts the kettle on) maybe it's just as well as teatime is really around ten o'clock anyway.;)

Had a little problem with the goats again this morning. Mischevious things, goats. Especially the boys, Bert and Ernie. They decided to try getting into the garden. Bert got his head, shoulders and one leg through the wire and got stuck. Ernie got a bit further with both legs and got stuck. I was afraid it would be necessary to cut them out of the wire. Thankfully, they cooperated and all's well. Silly boys.:p

Well, 'Bloomer, good luck and God bless, whatever you and Hubby are up to.;)

Try the Snickerdoodles, Seajoy, Cinnamon seems just the thing on a chilly morning, don't you think?

Ah! There's the kettle singing. How about something a bit full-bodied this morning? Oolong ought to be just the ticket.

Oops, It is my hubby who is up to something. Just that I realized after posting that, that bloomer lives in my area and only a couple of the Pastors in the circuit know about this yet as we are in the fact finding portion of it at this time.

Stude,

how does one go about procuring some Oolong tea? I've looked in all my grocery stores and nobody has it. Apparently Green Tea is all the rage. Green Tea tastes like lawn mower clippings to me.

Here is a place that might have what you want.
http://www.teafromtaiwan.com/

I brought some green oolong back from Taiwan last spring and it was good. One thing one must remember is that the water temperature makes a difference on the taste too. For green tea, it is best that the water does not come to a boil, heat the water to just below a boil. That is what the tea experts in Taiwan have told me.

I am actually going to Taiwan this week. Yeah, that is where I am off to. Not sure if I will be in a place to get some tea leaves, but if I do, I plan on purchasing some. If I do, I would be glad to share some with you.

LOL!:D:D:D I have to agree. In fact, I would say it smells that way too!;) Simply not a proper cup of tea, to me. Then again, I'm not fond of most herbal teas either. They taste like dishwater to me.:aarh:

Have you tried in the Chinese sections of the stores? Another thing you can do, is look around for a China-town type thing. Or, better yet, try a Trader Joe's. Do you have, within reasonable distance, an international marketplace available? I'll look around for websites. I know that Bieglow's has one, but I'm not fond of thier Oolong. Too strong. Tetley's is excellent (but then I'm biased).;)

I envy you, Angel. Oh, to be able to get hold of some good quality loose tea. Heaven, simply heaven.

I hope you both have a great trip. Wish I could go, mayyybe some day, except the food would kill me. Can't have ANY soy.:( It does eeeevil things to me.:waaah::bbrr::ahem:

Thanks for the link, Angel. Facinating site. However, seventy-five dollars for a medium sized can of tea is a bit steep for me. Sigh, maybe I'll try the really small can first.

Well Stude,
Chinese food served in Chinese countries is far different than the Chinese food we have here. So, I think you would be able to indulge in lots of food there. Just stay away from tofu and soy sauce. Soy sauce is not put on as many items there as they do here. The consumer adds it if they want it. Well that is my experience anyway. I will have to keep my eyes open to that this time.

Note to self: Make sure I get to purchase some great tea to share.

Yeah, I have a Trader Joes near me. I try to stay away because every time I go into one, I either get strange looks for having a gun on me or I feel my conservatism being sucked out of me by the swarm of liberals that are around me. ^_^ It's like they know!!! LOL I might just go to Cost Plus Imports. They should probably have it.

I have had no electricity in the parsonage since yesterday afternoon and it won't be restored until sometime tomorrow. It appears that someone at the church dropped the ball after the 'tenants" were removed from the house. The electric service was still in their name and they hadn't paid the bill since July, so... click!

Grrr!!!
Guess we Mac users can't pay our Thrivent bills online. You can't use Safar, Firefox or Opera to do so. Someday I am going to find my old copies of Windows XP and get the parallels so I can run those Windows applications on those few places that I am shut out on.

Okay, rant over with.
