• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

***its garbage youre posting in a Christian forum where these beliefs are very prevalent hence they are apart of our bible. you should find a forum site that is NoN-christian related to post in, that should be more satifactory to you.

I'm not sure non-Christian scientific sites would have them, SF. They would probably listen to their anti-Christian tirades for a little bit, then kick them out. If they did accept these guys, these guys probably wouldn't stay long --- science is too boring. And after spending all day at work in a blaboratory, they sure don't want to log on to a science forum and discuss their boring subjects.

I'm sorry... what is a "blaboratory?" Is that yet another AVET made-up word? Can you find some way to justify it with a bible quote for us? You know, do what you usually do... just pick a quote at random, and claim that it justifies your position.

An area on God's earth, where God-created men examine God-created data, and conclude God doesn't exist.

Science? Boring?

"These guys", hands up if you agree...

Aside from Consol, who is guilty of anti-christian tirades? And even if people were, why should they be kicked out?

Science is facinating. People wouldn't spend time studying it and discussing it if they didn't find it interesting. I'm here a) ignorance needs correcting and b) this is about my level of science. I'm always interested and learning, but there's no way I'm getting into a debate with proffessionals in science - I'd get my ass handed to me!

AV, would you like me to start referring to all Christians as god bothering loonies and decribe churches as hotbeds of ignorance and paedophila?

I'm a Christian and I believe in creationism. but you can't call me ignorant just because i believe what i believe..

I too think science is fascinating. I love astronomy, I love to read everything man has discovered about the universe.. ok, I dont believe everything they say because i think some things can't be demonstrated.. i love einstein's relativity... i think physics is my favorite science subject.. I also enjoy reading about time-travelling and time distortion even if i believe nobody will ever manage to time-travel.. so what? does this make me an ignorant Christian? these 2 words have been together too long in here.. and i'm sorry some have made you believe christianity = ignorance/brain-washing machine

Noone will ever change my mind about the beginning of all things, earth creation and stuff, but this doesnt mean i can't be interested in science.

EDIT: plus I consider myself as a very analytic person. I have faith in Jesus, i believe he lives and is real cause i can feel him and I know that if I have a problem all i have to do is to pray and wait for his intervention.. but I'm not gonna stay there praying waiting for a miraculous sign.. if i can do something, then i rationalize my problem or my fear and try to get myself out of it.. still with the help of God! christians =/=(don't equal to a) bunch of ignorant people..

You have to agree that what you believe can give an indication.

What you describe above? Heavens no. Thinking the garden of Eden was a real place comes close though. Although I would then sooner describe you as an ignorant creationist. Not all christians are creationists.

In this forum, nonsense. Ignorant and Christian are not together, although consol is a strong exception. Ignorant and creationist are often mentioned together, but that is for good reason. And again, not all christians are creationists (nor are all creationists Christian).

and i'm sorry some have made you believe christianity = ignorance/brain-washing machine
Consol is kind of a specific case of lunacy here.

But it does often mean that you pick and choose on what you accept about it.

Sorry if I've offended you, I wasn't actually saying that all Christians were ignorant, or uninterested in science. I was just responding to a post by another user which I found not only wrong but offensive.

Can I ask what form of creationism you believe in and what evidence has convinced you of this?

First of all, I dont think irrationalily (i'm not talking about insanity) can be compared to ignorance.. faith is not ignorance. the fact I believe in a Heaven and in a Hell doesn't make me any less intellingent or any less anything than you who believe in science alone.

plus what i know is that stars form out of a huge explosion generated by a high-density mass made up of matter and energy so i believe our solar system might have formed just like any other star system has formed and will keep forming

why do i believe this?
Genesis 1:2 explains it very well, "And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters."

It might have happened like I said because the earth was without form and void.. so that might have been the result of the explosion which generated our solar system.

but i dont believe in the big bang theory because as a man of faith I know that God created the whole universe and based it on perfect physic and chemical laws.. does this make me ignorant? (as a creationist?)
