CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Here at the Valley Greek Festival, they are selling so much beer, that you would have thought that the Greeks invented that drink too.

You know I do not drink at all? I am no fan of either wine, or beer... My brother is a big fan of german bier... not me. We hardly have alchohol in the house. Except maybe Vodka for a fellow Russian priest.. 
I do not even know about wine except communion wine. My hubby gets a headache every Sunday Ithink he is allergic to the chemicals of the wine... I was just teasing Michael that he hates ethicity but ....insists on some good German bier.....

Michael is very German. How could he not like beer.
However, with the Greeks claiming (in My Big Greek Fat Wedding) that all words can be traced back to the Greek, do the Greek claim to have made one of the first beers?

India Pale Ale, atleast the way I drink it, is a very American beer. I like a beer with ALOT of hops in it. It is a burnt sienna colored, very, very flavorful beer that is stronger than your average beer. But that being said, the vast majority of Americans would not like beer like I drink because most of them drink water, err Budweiser.

We pass the Budweiser Brewery on our way to Church.
I do not like the smell of that yeast.
The air from that brewery permeates all the houses nearby so that people smell like beer even if they are not drinking it.

I don't hate ethnicity, I just don't like it when ethnicity totally takes over the Orthodox faith and prevents the American Orthodox Church from forming.

Even better than chocolate is baklava.
I went to the Valley Greek Festival on Saturday and together we bought an entire tray of assorted goodies along with two trays of our favorite selections - chocolate baklava and lemon cake.

I wanted to go get some more because we shared our tray with our parishioners, but my husband said it is too expensive to buy some as it costs over $5.00 a gallon for gas now.
