  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ok, we know that the Oceanic 6 get off the island. We also know that as of three (?) years later, they are still off the island, but some of them (Jack and Hurley) are pretty dead set on returning.

So, its years later, and some or all of the Oceanic 6 make the return. What do they find?

Have the surviving lostaways joined forces with the Others?

Did the Others kill most of the lostaways (or vice versa)?

Did anybody attempt to rebuild/move into one or another of the remaining Dharma stations? (The Hydra station might not be too bad of a choice, and the Staff might work in a pinch for a few people).

Did the people on the island remain semi-civilized or regress into savagery?

Does Widmore or Hanso or somebody else have some people running around? (shipwrecked freighter folk, for example).

Take your best shot.

I'm not sure we have enough information to even speculate.

I suspect Richard will still be there, young as ever. But I have a sneaking suspicion that Locke will be the new creepy spirit-guy in the cabin looking for someone who can hear him cry for help.

Do you think we will ever find out about this "Jacob" and why hes doing what hes doing?

Definitely by the end of Season 7, but I don't think it will be anytime soon.

A long time ago on another forum I remember reading a post by somebody who claimed (second or third hand) 'insider knowledge' of what was going to happen on the series. He said that the show would return to the island years later, most of the lostaways would be dead, and the few that were left would be living like savages. He said this along about season II, if I remember right.

From where I'm standing...if Locke ends up in control of those left behind, I could see him ordering the destruction or abandonment of most or even all of the technology on the island. At one point he pretty much called Ben a hypocrite for having electricity at the barracks (Bens comment about the electricity coming from giant hamsters). Given the losses taken by the others, the decay already present in most of the Dharma installations except for the Barracks and the Hydra station, and the damage caused by Locke and the freighter people, most of the advanced stuff might be on the brink of a system failure anyhow. Toss in the lack of supplies (no submarine to bring goodies in, and 'moving the island' will probably ensure no more airdrops), and yes, I do see a distinct possibility that those on the island will be reduced to savagery by the time the 'Oceanic 6' make it back.

Oh geez, I just had a huge airhead moment there! I thought this thread was only one page, not two. I was so confused! :sorry:

I read at 40 per page, so it is one page for me. :p
