Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

And yet, even divided, we shall eventually reach the same place.

How so when Jesus said that the only way to the Father was by Him? Does that contradict any other way?

What exactly does your Bible say? "Dress modestly."
Does the Bible explicitly tell you how much is modest and how much is not? No. Where then shall you pick up that piece of wisdom?
More importantly, where shall the rest of us pick it up?
From you?... no thanks.

Its been given in this thread many times and in many places from the word of God.

so as we see here, the people promoting open nudity are people who REJECT the BIBLE predominantly.

fancy that. Well that right there clears up alot for me and makes all the difference.

You've completely misinterpreted me... as usual. Fancy that.

Shall I use the Bible the same way you do? Is your way of using the Bible the only way it is to be used?

I see no greater idolatry than to let someone (or something) else do my thinking for me. And yet, you would have me do just that... allegedly using "The Bible" (When in fact, you mean, "The Bible as you read it," meaning yourself) to bring me around to your way of thinking, or else I am REJECTING the BIBLE, is that it?

(using all caps to make your small ideas sound big... Fancy that.)

WRONG. All paths do not lead in the same direction.
There is the narrow road that leads to life, which few
find and a broad road that leads to destruction which many go in
thereat.

Matthew 7:13-14
Enter in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to
destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Because strait is the gate,
and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it.
Jesus

The Holy Spirit is available to those purchased by the blood of the Lamb,
to lead their conscience into the knowledge of what is modest, according to
God's standards, if one would ask, in the event that common sense should otherwise fail.

It's a long thread... how many inches below the knee must my skirt be? Are two-piece bathing suits an abomination in the sight of God? (Certainly, on some people, they're an abomination in the sight of everyone else  ) What's God's word on cleavage: How much is too much?

I would very much like specifics where possible... wouldn't want to run afoul of God in matters of fashion.

Few will enter that gate because few will choose it... even without the convoluted and contrived roadblocks other believers put in their way.

My way does not contradict Christ... whether you believe it or not.

Who has been "promoting open nudity"? And have all rejected the Bible?

No, but the people judging toplessness in a culture where it isn't imodest are doing that, not by arguments and factual Biblewords, but by invoking personal infallability in interpreting the words of Paul and Jesus.

Actually, allowing God's thoughts, which are higher than ours to have rule and reign
in our lives, is called Worship and giving Him the seat on the throne of our lives,
which is Lordship. The Lord God is entitled to both which is summed up in the first
and most important commandment, to "Love the Lord your God with all of your
heart, mind, soul and strength."

Proverbs 14:12. There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.

Proverbs 21:2. Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the hearts.

Oh sure, we'll ALL end up with God at the end... the issue becomes where we go AFTER JUDGMENT.
You have no clue what He's judging on if you don't accept the Bible.

And this thread is heading for Mod cleanup if we all aren't careful. We've already stated the spiritual divide and why it exists, saying much more will get some violations going for reports later.

Jesus says it best:
Mat. 7:
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven,
but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name,
cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’
23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.
14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

With that, I'll end my participation on why we're not in any spiritual agreement.

You said there was more than one "way" that condradicts Him who is the only way - you said your knowledge of Him was from "guides" and not from Him or His word. Thats another way.

God... worship. The Bible (or any mere mortal's interpretation, including yourself)... Idolatry. See the difference?

I tend to view God and the Bible as two different things... perhaps that's where the confusion sets in?

The Bible IS God's written Word to mankind.
To obey God's written Word is to obey God.
See the reality?

Not before I add a verse or two of my own...Matthew 7:5 and Luke 4:23 come to mind.

God inspired writers - writing as led by the Lord - otherwise, they sure do have future events 100% accurate... that would be a huge coinkeydink.

Even psychics don't know the future... and since they were WITH JESUS in person, I assure you, I accept their testimony over and above YOURS which lacks any proof or any foundation other than "it's my opinion".

That also means that you REJECT THE GOD THEY PREACH ABOUT, no?

How is believing what the authors of the Bible (who are eyewitnesses to God directly) equivalent to "worship" of a bible??

Luke 16 comes out and says you MUST believe Moses & the prophets as true; and that they testify of Him.

This is about belief of scripture's teachings, NOT literal worship of a book. (Gosh but I get so sick of that false accusation). It's more of a scapegoat than anything imo.

And lastly, how does not "worshipping" a book warrent denial of clear scriptures spelled out for us?

Jesus said if you do not believe moses and the prophets (whom He chose to pen His words) then neither would one believe thou He rise from the dead. (victory over sin).

Do you believe there is a such thing as sin?
Not seeing the connection here, but yes, I do believe in sin... any deliberate act which serves to separate us from God is sinful.
