Disagreeing with a Jew does not make you an antisemite. It is so easy to play that card, but it never works. For example, an Israeli official publicly denounced Jimmy Carter as a bigot. Let us not forget though at least he has the courage to meet Hamas face to face. Hiding behing tanks and weapons is not a symbol of courage.

It's a standard tactic for those unwilling to even countenance the idea that Israel may be acting unethically or immorally.

Though, in all honesty, does the "Antisemite!!!" card work any more? It might have worked in the immediate aftermath of the Holocaust, but I don't think it today convinces anyone but the already convinced. It's a sneaky way to derail the discussion, though, forcing the opponent to answer to accusations of antisemitism and keeping him too busy to point out immoral actions of Israel.

I still believe a powerful Jewish figure will destroy the dome of the rock, and he wil be treated as a "messiah". Then the world will definitely fall in armageddon. If people take this opinion as anti-semite, then such people deny logic.

The fact of the matter is that the original OP is contemplating the justification of destroying so-called "Amalekites". That raises a lot of eyebrows of how extremists the Israelis can also be.

Well, the majority Rabbinical opinion seems to be that the Temple can only be properly reconstructed when the Messiah arrives. Which is fortunate, as is the fact that the majority in Israel is sane enough to realize that destroying the Dome could well amount to national suicide.

It is stupid to think that just disagreeing with a Jew makes a person anti-Semitic.

It is dangerously naive to assume that anti-Semitism doesn't still exist.

Do people get accused of anti-Semitism unjustly? Sometimes, yes. A false accusation is an ugly, ugly thing -- assination of character is a great evil.

Do we see anti-Semitism at work in the world? Of course. And we need not remind anyone what an evil it is. The photos, the records, the tatooed arms, are all there to remind us. The camps still stand as testimonial graveyards.

You can't see the obvious truth in that statement?
The "obvious truth?" It is "obvious" only to those with black and white vision, who don't have the mental fortitude or wisdom to discern anything deeper than "X is always bad, Y is always good." It is obvious only to those who have so swallowed the line about moral relativity, they have nothing left to offer the world in terms of objective evaluation. In case that is too hard to understand, let me make it clear: the statement "One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter" is a stupid, stupid, STUPID remark.

There is really no need to insult my friend like that.

Again, so says the woman living in a nation founded by traitors.

When Ben Franklin said, "We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately." he was being quite literal. If the revolution failed, all the founding fathers would have been executed for treason.

That's the point of that statement, the world isn't black and white. From one person's viewpoint a group is evil, and from another's the group is heroic.

I wonder...I think some folks should read a book about a crazed, merciless, Islamic terrorist, bent on an ethnic cleansing of his peoples' land, and domination of the entire universe. He's known for killing everything in his path that opposes him. The land he's fighting for was lost by his family in a war supported by the Emperor himself, because his father was thought to be such a danger to the stability of the government. What he threatens to do with the chief resource of the land is so outrageous that it would destroy the entire economy of the Empire overnight.

The book is called Dune. The plot description above is entirely accurate, if you try to put yourself in the shoes of the Harkonnens, the Spacing Guild, and the Emperor.

Boy is this post confused.

The "obvious truth?" It is "obvious" only to those with black and white vision, who don't have the mental fortitude or wisdom to discern anything deeper than "X is always bad, Y is always good."
So what you're saying here is that a statement designed to point out that the world isn't black and white and that some things depend on perspective actually says the complete opposite?

Would you like to try again?

It is obvious only to those who have so swallowed the line about moral relativity, they have nothing left to offer the world in terms of objective evaluation. In case that is too hard to understand, let me make it clear: the statement "One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter" is a stupid, stupid, STUPID remark.
So you're saying the supporters of militants view them as terrorists too? Don't you think, you know, maybe, because they're supporters they DON'T VIEW THEM AS TERRORISTS*?

Wouldn't that prove the sentence "One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter" to be actually correct?

You know, like I said?

* Sorry for the emphasis but this point is so obvious in order to deny it you have to deny reality, and I'm sure you don't want to do that. Well, reasonably sure.

"X is always bad, Y is always good" is the opposite of moral relativism.

Which do you think is stupid: "moral relativism" or "black and white vision?"

I always include ground pork in my meatloaf. Sometimes finely chopped bacon.

So, if I'm making it, it's not Kosher.
Pfffft...I'd eat it anyway.
:) Nothing goes better in Texas than barbecued pork-ribs and Lone Star Beer.
As far as how some view pork, a Muslim had this to say about them:

http://christianforums.com/t2885502...-pork-despite-its.html&page=44&highlight=pork

Why Christians do eat pork despite its forbidden in the bible?!!.....................................

5. Pig is the most shameless animal

The pig is the most shameless animal on the face of the earth. It is the only animal that invites its friends to have sex with its mate. In America, most people consume pork. Many times after dance parties, they have swapping of wives; i.e. many say "you sleep with my wife and I will sleep with your wife." If you eat pigs then you behave like pigs. :D

Peace.

Lone Star! I used to drink that when I'd go hear Jennifer Nettles at the 40-Watt, back when she was a lesbian rock icon in the Atlanta-Athens complex. Lone Star and a shot of JD...what memories...
