  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

3,000 blessings to the first person that points out all the misspellings and/or improper use of correctly spelled words in the following post. Post the words and their proper spelling/use in this thread (in the order in which they appear) FIRST and you’re the winner!

I will number the paragraphs so it’s easier. So, as an example, if in paragraph 1 you see three misspelled or improperly used words, your post should appear something like this….

1. gym s/b (should be) gem, apel s/b apple, muskle s/b muscle..or you can do it like this: 1. gym=gem, apel=apple, etc.

Open to ALL, not just Adventists.

**If you are a great big cheater head, be advised that some of the words won’t show up in a “spell check”! HA!**

Here we go…………..

1. The only thing worse than alot of misspelled words in an online post is when someone misspells something in a thread title or IN ALL CAPITOL LETTERS! I have some helpful hints, so bare with me.

2. I can’t complain to much about misspellings. I think most people can definetly relate. Others, however, find it unacceptible and they sometimes consider themselves “the Grammer Police”. Aparently some people judge others online as “less educated” if they aren’t a very good speller. Not all of us have the money to go to collage, and some times the errors are just typos, so lay off!!

3. To stay under the radar, be inteligent about it. If a word doesn’t look quite right as your typing it, trust your own judgement, and utilize an online dictionary. It can save you from some embarassment later!

4. Its also a good idea to open up a seperate program, like Microsoft Word, so you can type out your message and check the spelling before you post it on a massage board. Programs like Word have there own spell check feature, and are quiet handy. Some programs can be rather expensive, but you can download some of them online for a little less money. You just have to by a keycode.

5. A friend of mine is too scarred to post on message boards because she knows she doesn’t spell well. She’s afraid she’ll end up getting into an arguement about her spelling or that she won’t be taken seriously. People have been mean to her in the passed and there attitudes really hurt her. No wonder she considers message boards to be scary!! I don’t understand people like that because their doing more harm than good. It just doesn’t make since!!

6. If we are worried about people not getting the proper education, we should complain about our schools to are government instead of taking it out on individuals.

7. My best advise is to take your time and look up words your unfamilar with. Not all of us have similiar educations.

Happy hunting!! :)

YN, very good! I didn't check it over thoroughly yet, but I know you missed one in paragraph 1 and one in paragraph 4.

Keep trying! So far so good though!

YN, I meant to say that you did get the one in paragraph one, but you didn't highlight it. Look at the original and yours and see if you can spot it right away.

There's one in paragraph 3 that you corrected but didn't highlight as well.

And the two you corrected but didn't highlight in paragraph 7.

I only see one that you completely missed. I'm not giving any hints either. Neener
