  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Does anybody know of a good chapter by chapter Adventist study on Zechariah?

That book is a very difficult book to understand. Its prophecies are the ones that people use to support their claim that God and the saints will be reigning over Israel or something like that during the millennium. However, Zechariah's prophecies are actually conditional. They give information as to how things would play out if Israel remained God's chosen people. We know that the physical nation of Israel is no longer God's chosen people. Zechariah 14 gives us very good evidence that this prophecy was centered on Israel as God's chosen and even in the same physical location. It claims that God would gather all of Israel's enemies and defeat them for Israel. It is clear that its a conditional prophecy and it no longer applies directly to how things will take place.

Nope. I ask about this book on bibleinfo.com and i get the answer that i gave in the previous post. Well not that exact thing but that is how i understand it. I got tired of the millennial kingdom people who uses Zechariah as their last resort when i point them to Revelation. Zechariah lived at the time when Israel was set free from Babylonian captivity and his visions were a way to motivate the people to start rebuilding Jerusalem and to show them the results of their comiitment.
