and look how David responded to his wife, when she nagged him for not doing it the "conventional" way.
That's what I noticed too Ubee.
It's good that you worship this way!
Now add The Divine Liturgy to this also.
Do both.
Forgive me...
I dont know how and I dont
know that I dont.
WHAT is liturgical worship?
Is Simon saying that Blue Like Jazz is an emergent
church book?
If it is, be cautious because it's very subtle.
I've checked into it too (one of the big five
is in my town and my teens get invited)
see thats just it. i dont see how what i think is worship means jack squat. what God accepts as worship is what I'm after. We see God ordaining liturgical worship in the OT, we see Christ Himself and the Apostles worshiping liturgically, we see liturgical worship in Heaven -- why oh why would I choose to do something else bc its how i feel?
Sheesh Jackstraw, why oh why would I choose
to do something because of how I FEEL.
DIdnt you hear me? I said all different tribes,
worshipping our One God, in the tongue and
culture we come from. Or Better YET,
all tongues and tribes coming together!!
Let HIM lead and draw and control.
God set me in a church where most all of
the members are African American and I'm
not, the music sounded foreign to me at
first, in fact my older kids said , "eh, it's not
really my style of worship"
(SO far five are attending though).
Did I say, 'No God, I dont know those songs
and I dont care for the tempo etc?
Heck no, I'm honored that He cares about
me enough to have provided a family for me.
WHO are we serving? OUR musical
desires or preconceived ideas, or God's
desires?
BTW,
You never did answer me, what kind of
music IS acceptable?
And what is liturgy?
Thanks
