CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

We sang such wonderful praises to the Lord yesterday at church, waving our palm branches, honoring Him as they did when He entered Jerusalem on that day!

We are having a Good Friday celebration at our church, which will include, among other things, a Tenebrae service. The events of the evening will have lots of interactive activities for the whole family to try to bring to life Christ's struggles of those last few days.

Sounds interesting. Our Good Friday mass is very somber and the quietest we ever hear the sanctuary after the book slams shut. Many are moved to tears, which is appropriate. It's difficult go through, but looking forward to Sunday makes it all OK.

Hello everyone!
We are on Spring break.
Which means, kids and DH are home, life is fairly normal otherwise. Often we travel on spring break, but this year we decided not to. I think the extent of our travels will be a couple of trips to the book store...
It is also Holy Week, as you know.
And today is St. Patrick's day.

That is how our Tenebrae services are. The only one I went to was about 4 years ago (and I planned it), and it was very moving. I am looking forward to attending one I haven't planned.
