  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The place to meet Jesus posted above is interesting in that the body of water looks like a heart with arteries attached. Our hearts--the place to meet him! Lovely words and pictures I have read catching up on this thread. Please be in prayer for my daughter, that she will be able to complete her schoolwork and graduate. She is under a lot of pressure, a lot of deadlines, and they upset her and she insists on taking long breaks to relieve her lack of peace. I keep praying...

I am remembering a snippet of something, don't remember if it was a song, or what. "When he he walks, it is with our feet..." etc.

Thanks for your prayers. Some of the pressure my daughter was under was due to a misunderstanding. She thought her evening academy class had to be finished March 10, but the letter said May 10. She is so relieved! Now she can pace herself more realistically.
She is doing well in her economics class now, investing in pretend stock and coming out ahead. She is happy about that.

She also met with her new psychiatric nurse, who, although she did not diagnose her with bipolar disorder, she did put her on lithium. This is the second time my daughter has been on lithium. It takes about a week to take effect. Hopefully it will help her on the nights when she has trouble sleeping as well as keep her mood even.

Jesus and Braveheart.

It's almost the last scene in Braveheart. William Wallace is being taken through the street to be excuted. He's kneeling in a cart, tied to what looks like a cross while the crowd taunts him, spits on him and throws garbage. The executioner approaches Wallace with pretended compassion and offers a way to escape punishment if Wallace but submit to the king and give up the fight. Wallace does not yield and suffers cruel tortures. The final moments approach and Wallace has a vision of his wife moving through the crowd. She is all he can see. She smiles at him. Then there is the shot of his hand on the cross, the ax coming down to behead wallace, the scarf that his wife had given him so long ago falls from his hand but before Wallace dies he cries with His last ounce of strength:

"FRRRRRRRREEDOOOOOM!!!"

What a picture of Christ and His love for you! Jesus too was taken through the streets, carrying His cross. The crowds mocked Him. When He arrived at the place of execution He was offered druged wine to dull His pain. Jesus refused. The enemy taunted Him and tempted Him to come down from the cross. What happened? Jesus had a vision of you and me. he saw your face. "For the joy set before Him He endured the cross." He kept His eyes on that reward He would receive and that reward was you, a part of His Bride/the Church. Just like William Wallace held on to the scarf his wife has given Him, even so Jesus held on to the promise that we would love Him in return. Right before He died he cried out with a loud voice and brought us our FREEDOM!

Are there any other movies you can think of that contain similarities to the story of Christ or Jesus and the Bride?

Nice to meet you,

I haven't been here in awhile. My computer crashed and I had to start all over triying to get back my links to the forums I visit and such.

God Bless,

The book "Our Tremendous Lover" is at least twenty years old. I had the book. This fellow believed that the King and the shepherd in SOS were two different people which I don't agree with. The reason why I posted the book is becuse I like the picture. :D

Oh? That's good information to know about the book. I agree with you. The King and the Shepard in the book are the same... OUR YESHUA.

Good to know, thanks Amy.
I love the picture too!
