  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

try 5 dogs & 3 cats in 1 house.... I think hair just floats & gravitates into the closets too.

LOL. All it takes for me is one cat. My poodle doesn't shed much, but my kitty Chaucer more than makes up for it:

Beautiful cat.
wub.gif

Thank you, he's a sweety. I rescued him from an alley, so he's literally an alley cat. He used to be so scared that he hid all the time. Well, you can tell he's not scared anymore...instead he follows me around...and my clothes are often covered with fur. I have to use one of those lint rollers before I go out. LOL.

Be blessed this day, TwoB!

Awww.. how sweet. Fur and all. ^_^ We got our cat from a shelter when he was just about 8 weeks old. We've had him not for about 7 years this April. :D

Be blessed too hon.

 Nadiine. He was in some pain yesterday morning and a tad on the grumpy side :( but we talked to him again last night and he was feeling much better. He's doing extremely well and we are very thankful to God. We believe it is the prayers of so many that has made this terrible thing so much easier for him.

Val, does he still hope to go home today? Or is he already home? (Sorry if this was covered, I haven't read the last 4 pages of the thread yet.) Either way, I pray that he starts feeling better soon.

OH THANK YOU!!!! Thank you so much Nadiine. I missed being online yesterday. It got so windy out here and they were talking about hail and some nasty thunderstorms and this was around noon. So I turned off and unplugged my computer.

Well it was looking so so yesterday afternoon so I went ahead and ran up to Walmart to get a few things I needed to get. I did this after picking up our daughter. It was rainging but not bad.

We come out of Walmart with our umbrellas andI'm trying to push the cart and hold the umbrella with the wind. I get almost aross the driving area from Walmart to the parking area when my umbrella gets blown from the down position to the up position. I hope you know what I mean. ^_^

The plastic tips that go on to the wires all around the umbrella were effected by what happened too. About 4 areas of the umbrella came off those wires.

I'm trying to hold the cart and keep the wind from blowing it away from me and now I'm trying to keep the wind from taking my umbrella. My daughter was holding her umbrella and she looked at what I was going through and started laughing. All of a sudden her umbrella went from the down position to the up position. ^_^

This guy in a truck was driving by us and was laughing. I was a sight to see. ^_^ I gave up on the umbrella and just got wet. :sigh: Anyway, everything seemed to be okay last night. I mean we were having rain and it was really windy out. But we had power. That is until 9pm right as American Idol was finishing up.It didn't come back on until almost 10:30.

My husband said the sky looked Green. We haven't heard anything to confirm it but we had thought a tornado had touched down somewhere nearby because of the sound. I had called my mom who lives not quite 10 minutes from me and she had heard the same thing.

We had lost power at least once more after that around midnight. Came back on within about 5 minutes that time though. Slept on the couch because husband was snoring. :| Supposed to be windy today too but no weather like yesterday.

I didn't sleep well last night so I'm dragging this morning. I wanted to be online last night so bad. :( Thank you again Nadiine for the push.

Glad you are safe, Cheri.

We didn't have bad storms like that, but we got a storm that was supposed to be snow and freezing rain, but just ended up being regular rain because it is so warm out. And because it is so warm out, it has melted all the snow, so that, on top of the unfreezing rain has risen the river to flood levels. :sigh: We have had so many problems with the river (the Susquehanna River) here over the last 3 years, one flood two years ago that displaced a lot of people and caused a lot of damage. If the rain doesn't stop soon, we may be in for another flood of that nature.

Just finished my thank you reppies....I won't get back on til last tonight.

My mom is back in the hospital. Sunday night when we celebrated my daughter's birthday, she was really acting strange. Thinking it was 1985, thinking she was 37 (she is 74), really not being herself and not making much sense. We went to the ER on the suggestion of her visiting nurse, who thought my mom might have had a stroke. So far, they discovered that her potassium level is really high (not a good thing) and her kidneys are a little more worse than before. She refuses to go on dialysis (sp), and has a multiple of health issues (congestive heart failure, diabetes, lung disease). I will be headed out to visit her after work. (would take off today, but I am training our replacements....it is all set up)

It's scary when things like that happen. I'll keep her in my prayers, Rosey.

Did you hear anything about the job, Rosey?

He's a pretty boy!! I love when people rescue cats. Most of our cats were strays too (which explains the litter box issues):o :|

Alot of times in church we'll joke about how one of our pets is 'keeping us warm' that morning as we find some stray dog hairs on our clothes.
even with the lint rollers you'll miss some. lol
how cute. =)~

I keep a list too. ^_^ I started putting times on my list next to who I rep so I know when my reps are coming in the next day.

I used to have a handwritten list, but that got really bad. Now I use an excel spreadsheet. I keep track of times just by listing the last reps to come in at the bottom of the list.

And I almost put someone down on my list who actually repped me for a regular post elsewhere. Can you imagine? Both actually getting repped somewhere else and almost repping him in return? ^_^

Y'all are so good. I just try to rely on my faulty memory. :p :sigh:

I'll repost this, I hope it helps--

There are several in this section of CF who need prayer. I thought I'd list them here. PM me if you want to add or change something.

Beloved--her husband is going in for an MRI today. The need is urgent.
Rosey's mom, and also prayer for her as her job changes.
Flat, his family and his uncle's family as they mourn Flat's uncle.
Springrain needs prayer for her health.
Viper has had problems with a cyst.
Ctay, an infection.
BellaSong is struggling with hurt from the past.
Edie needs healing
CoolMom has asked for more time with her sons.

Let us pray for them, knowing that we serve an awesome God.

I love the Lord because He has heard
My voice and my supplications,
Because He has inclined His ear to me,
Therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live.
--Psalm 116:1-2

Be blessed this day, and know that our God is for us, and with us. He will never leave us or forsake us.

Jeremiah 29:11; Hebrews 13:5

Thanks for the list. Praying for each one. :prayer:

I was going to ask if maybe we should start a Repaholics Prayer Request thread, but I'm afraid that might get lost in the shuffle and discourage some of the fellowshipping that goes on. But it could make it easier to keep track of all those needing prayer in our lives . . .

What do you all think?

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe we could make a sticky thread for that purpose and people can post their requests and it can be updated on a daily basis (or every 2 or 3 days, however often the need presents itself.)

I was praying and remembered that Beloved needs prayer today, too. Her husband is going in for tests today, the need is urgent.

May you all be blessed as you seek the Lord today!

thanks for the reminder
